So I finally got tired of my "Dr. Kaplan" plastic pump, and purchased a Mity Vac Silverline (04555) aluminum pump. What a difference! The pressure at -4Hg with the Mity Vac was intense, leading me to believe the Kaplan had some accuracy issues. Also, the pressure seal (cylinder to body) doesn’t gradually diminish as with the Kaplan. Funny, but I had read how ideal pumping may be in the -4 or -5Hg range, but with the Kaplan I had to hit at least -7Hg to really get results. However, the Mity Vac made even -5 or -6Hg a little uncomfortable for the first week, again a possible reflection of Kaplan gauge inaccuracy. Overall the aluminum Mity Vac pump is outstanding.

Now that you have an accurate pump, I would still make 5”hg your upper limit. Pumping works best when you stay below your trauma line.

With the Mityvac I have to keep the numbers at -4Hg to -5Hg. The results with this new pump have been amazing. For example, I’m closing in on the 8” length mark in the cylinder. As for girth, the first two to three inches of the cylinder are packed, and the top side and under side of my penis are pressed against the cylinder. For some reason I’m deeper rather than wider. Also, good flaccid results post-pumping for many hours. It’s like a new p.e. experience.

I’ve also noticed pumping is very good for increasing glans size.

don’t buy the plastic one, my handle just cracked right in half at the pivot point.

I agree that the plastic Kaplan hand pump does not have a very accurate gauge. I have a second gauge that I’ve attached to the line and it doesn’t always match the Kaplan gauge.
