Interesting impact - air vs water
Hi all,
Been following an interval driven water pump routine, light stretch warmup under a hot shower, then 5 min sets, 3-5inhg vacuum, using hot water with a cold water final set, 1 min slow jelqing in between. Over time I’ve worked my way up to 1 set of 4inhg, 4 sets 5inhg, 1 set 6inhg, final cold water set at 5inhg. No issues, no donuts, etc., very pleased with the slow approach, the cold water finish removes all discoloration, leaving my unit fat, pink and happy. The jelq between sets does the same in terms of discoloration.
So yesterday, I was messing around with using a cock ring after my routine and wondered if I could use it in the cylinder. So, not wanting to mess with the water setup, I just grabbed the pump and cylinder, hooked it up and did a quick run air pump, less than a minute at 5inhg, just a quick inflate to see what happened with the ring. Bingo - my first donut hit. The donut went away quickly, but returned today under my normal routine, but just barely. So it’s rest time for me to rest or do a wrap or condom pump, most likely I’ll just take the rest of the week off.
Given the rather small amount of time at a pressure less than my max, but in air rather than water, would this be an indication that perhaps there is some benefit to water vs. Air pumping or do you think I just hit a stress tipping point (adding one minute more than I was used to)?
