When Should I Start Pumping?

Hey Guys,

As the title says, I’m wondering when I should transition from hanging to pumping. It seems like most people on Thunder’s agree that pumping is more likely to result in girth gains rather than length gains. It is also common wisdom that one should focus on length first before focusing on girth. Because of this, I have been planning on waiting to do any pumping/girth work until I get closer to my length goal. My current BPFSL is around 7 3/4", and I suspect I’ll need to be approaching 9" BPFSL to reach my final length goal. That means I have over an inch of growth left to reach my goal. Also, my BPEL fluctuates from 7.25" to 7.5" depending on my EQ. I know most people have a much larger difference between BPEL and BPFSL, which may be why they experience length gains from pumping. This is another reason why I haven’t tried pumping yet.

However, I have noticed a problem with my girth recently. My base girth is right around 5 1/4", but my girth closer to the glans is just under 4.75". This makes it difficult to wear silicone sleeves, which I like to do after hanging to stay in a stretched state. I also have a fairly pronounced upward curve, and despite two years of hanging, a very high erection angle (around 60 degrees from the horizontal). While I don’t mind the curve, the high erection angle can sometimes make sex a little difficult since it’s a bit uncomfortable for me to bend my unit straight out.

So here are my questions for the experienced pumpers:

1. If I were to start pumping with a 1.75" cylinder now, could this hinder my length gains in the future?
2. Will pumping help even out my girth?
3. Is it possible that pumping could help my unit point a bit straighter?
4. Would I be overdoing it if I were to hang and pump at the same time?

2. Will pumping help even out my girth?~~ Yes, for me yes. I have never seen my dick this thick. Although I must admit I think my growth with girth is a combination of ULI and water pumping.
3. Is it possible that pumping could help my unit point a bit straighter?~~ All studies point to that fact. Please research more on it.
4. Would I be overdoing it if I were to hang and pump at the same time?~~ I don’t think so, mainly start pumping when you feel you are about to plateau on hanging. Try a combo on it. I would not stop what you are doing just add and find a good balance.

Quick notes:
-Water pumping for me is the only way to go, I have no idea how the guys here air pump. I use LA Pump, I am not against Bathmate, I’m just fine with my cylinder and gauge of pressure.
-Never ever go over 10Hg or 20 min a day, you could break into (2) 10 min sessions with a heat break in between
- Water Pumping has sky rocketed my EQ to something I have never had ever, even in my 20’s. I am internally a rock now.
- I recommend 2 cylinders, one for girth and one for length. This is all a theory that the wider one is for girth, but I can confirm, pumping with one cylinder level size up will be a different pump experience and both feel great. Do any combination of going back and forth.
- Put a cock ring on your balls to avoid your balls getting sucked up in the cylinder
- I use coconut oil, I have a ton of posts about why
- I use RED+NIR pad for warmup, I think that has been the best combo to warm up and pump
- I am only a 3 month water pumper but a year jelq -please take my notes with that in mind.
- At my current rate, age and wifey moans, I don’t see why I wouldn’t water pump for life now. That is a super odd statement because a few months ago, I read here about a guy that has pumped for 15 years and I couldn’t for the life of me understand why someone would do that.

Thanks for the info. Ever since I switched to using a vac hanger I’ve been wanting to give pumping a shot. I really enjoy the feeling I get after a hanging session when my glans get a bit of a pump. I’ll have to look into air pumping vs. water pumping. Not sure exactly what my routine would be but I’d probably start with 5 mins after a hanging session and work up from there.

The majority of pumpers here use air systems. Knowing what vacuum level you are pumping at is very important to avoid injury, and air systems have a vac gauge for that purpose. There are no dedicated water pump systems that have a vac gauge that I am aware of. Note that an air system can also be used with water if one chooses to. Air sustems are also less expensive than a bathmate water pump.

However, most or all PE processes and PE equipment can be used at reduced risk if one uses common sense.

Current: 7-7/8” BPEL; 7-3/8” NBPEL; 8.5” BPFSL; 6.5” MEG; 6”x5” Flaccid.

Goal: Improved/consistent EQ while managing ED. Secondary: maintain current stats.
