There seemed to be better accommodation today so was able to keep the tension at 24 half turns.
Bumped up the heat setting to medium on the Total Man. This was tolerable and I want to say that the tissues relaxed more with the higher heat setting..
Was pressed for time so had to cut the session short.

Okay just some follow up notes from the morning session.

Post session glans condition excellent. Finished session well forward in the cradle, with the tip of the glans at the front of the cradle. This is important to note because if tension increases result in the loss of forward position, what is really being gained?

Tissues well tolerated the medium setting of the Total Man heat pad, maybe we test the high setting at some point.

This may very well be the first time that I am actually following a true IR heating protocol as the previous effort with the small Thermedic pad did not envelope the shaft completely as the Total Man does. And I was always struggling with managing the hot spots.

The relaxation of the tissues with the application of IR heat was something I had not experienced before this mornings session.

Really have to thank the Therapeutic heat guys for the qualitative descriptors that help with navigating how to effectively execute on this deal.

Not entirely sure if a whole hour is needed, but since mostly we’ll be at 3 times per week will likely keep that session length.

I found the high heat setting to be intolerable at 41 minutes so I’ll be sticking with the medium heat going forward. Either that or just apply the high heat for 20 minutes?

I cut the session short because of the heat. Shaft was reddish upon removal of pad and very warm to the touch. No burns or anything, maybe my heat tolerance is low?

Went up in tension because forward position in the cradle was maintained.

Glans condition excellent at end and forward position was maintained.

Hadn’t had a hook up in a while but did yesterday and EQ was robust, if anything a bit too sensitive, but it’s been a while.

Things are going pretty good, just got to workout the heat.

Still gathering information about the heat both in terms of intensity(level) and duration. I read that kyrpa stated that surface temps that approach being ve uncomfortable should not be used as that is too high. Reviewing 5.5Squared’s notes, he was applying heat for a full hour.

Given that and that I felt a good relaxation of the tissues with the medium heat and that I could not tolerate the high heat for 20 minutes, I’m going to settle on the medium heat setting with the TotalMan IR heat pad.

Best I can figure on how to proceed.

I like the idea of starting out on high and then reducing the temperature to medium before it becomes uncomfortable. Reaching theraputic temperatures faster means you’re increasing the duration of extending under ideal temperatures.

Recalling scienceguy’s post just over 20mins seems to be the right spot to reach the desired temperature of 42C (scienceguy - let’s see what happens).

I use my IR wand for 20 min. Pointed at my base while hanging and then for an additional 5 min without the IR during the cool down and apply some additional load by pushing down on the weight a tad. Fwiw

5.5cm of gain with a noose extender. Awesome. I’ve added around 2.5cm in 10 months, but hit a plateau. I just added heat and things are moving forward again. Thanks for the detailed workout.

Thank you for the response. Intuitively that makes sense to me however, the day that I tried the high heat when it became intolerable and I reduced it to medium there really was no relief. But given that the heat tolerance was improved today, maybe worth another shot.

Or maybe the other way start with medium heat and then kick it up.

Probably fine where I’m at with medium, but yeah, I certainly would like to be in the therapeutic range.

I can not handle the high heat on the Total Man heat pad after 17.5 minutes on high I actually had to take it to low for 5 minutes to get relief. Maybe I’ll try the other way and start with medium and go high afterwards for the latter portion of the heat treatment?
There was a little loss of forward position in the cradle today at 42 half turns, so we’ll back off on the tension from this point forward.

Nothing else remarkable, now the grind begins.

So yesterday evening I tried a second session and all went well until at 25 minutes I felt a tiny pop and the small blister popped. I didn’t actually realize it was still there. So I ended that session, because I wanted to try and get a session today and didn’t want to push the tissues. Being able to get an evening session is useful because my present schedule only permits 3 mornings a week in a predictable fashion and I’m inclined that 4-5 sessions/week would be optimal.

On the heat, I’m finding that with the medium setting I can just get to 30 minutes, before it becomes intolerable so, I’m going
to stick with that. Maybe on a shorter session where I’m only applying 20 minutes of heat will I consider the high setting.

It’s a question I have that I do not know the answer to, is 20 minutes of high heat more effective than 30 minutes of medium?

Tissues held up well today, so back on track.
