If your tube is fitted for length instead of girth, there’s little or no air gap.

Also, you can fill the tube with water, which will even out the heat nicely.

Results identical to last session. The strain level is actually so low that I am unsure if there is any at all and I am not simply measuring wishfully. Seeing things staying the same after the weekend off, I am going to change course and continue my previous M-F 5 on 2 off routine. Unsure why I’m hitting these low strain rates so early compared to the other logs I’ve read.

Dont you measure how much temperature are you stretching at?

You could simply use a K-Type Thermocoupler and touch your skin with just one probe at the very least

I’m sure I could check skin temp but without doing a urethral probe (not gonna happen) I won’t know for sure what the interior temp is. I’m using a TotalMan IR pad which consensus here says works fine. It seems to get plenty hot.. Almost too hot really.

I tested the totalman pad with thermocouple in my urethra and did did hit the correct temperature range, it was a one of experiment as the setup was a bit of a nightmare

No change from yesterday. Tilting my hips even slightly will affect measurement. When trying to be this accurate it can move the needle quite a bit. Hard to be sure of accuracy with differences so small. Think I should just measure pre-BPFSL once a week on Friday’s and adjust if no change. The daily fluctuations add too much noise.

About the same. Going to increase the weight by 0.5 lbs to the following next Monday. I was previously doing just a few weeks ago 2 hours per day hanging sets of 4.5 lbs. I think I need more weight to get better results from this cycle. I’d really prefer to finish this one out with some gains and then do a decon of 1-2 months. I’m comfortable moving the weight up a little if need be. Still not near my MPa max heated of 5.7 anyway so I’m not really worried about toughening.

Starting to feel a little too easy by the end of the session though. Definitely time to move up. Increase will be 12.5%

Decided to increase weight early and received identical results again. My thoughts are that after initial stretching of the accordion, so to speak, the next gains are proving much tougher to achieve. My pre-BPFSL has been the same for a week now. Yes, I’m only 9 days into this, but looking at other progress threads following this routine it appears I’m not responding much to the protocol (outside of the initial uncoiling). Either the load/time is insufficient to induce growth, or the theory does not apply to all. Some people do seem to have physiology far more suited for gains than others.

There is another user who did not appear to respond as well so there are a few possibilities here:

1. Some users have much stronger tunica than others and are the “hard gainers” seen from time to time. After multiple attempts of PE for years, I think I am in this camp. I was only able to gain previously hanging 2 hours per day and had to stop because life got in the way. Any less than this duration didn’t seem to yield anything for me.

2. We are applying techniques incorrectly somehow. Perhaps putting on the heating pads wrong or some other condition that causes temps not to reach targeted values, or triggers the stretch reflex / latching of the smooth muscle.

3. Hanging with FIRE is no more effective than anything else and the results noted were simply by easy gainers with dedicated training regimens.

Feeling a little frustrated at lack of any progress on the needle this entire week. Will think more about my approach on the weekend.

Concluded from last session that stimulus was insufficient to promote growth and increased working weight from 4-4.5 lbs to 5. Also experimented with just doing 1 hour at working weight with heating pad applied immediately and removed during final 10 minutes. No difference was observed vs previous sessions of slowly increasing the weight. This session was done for 1 hour at 5 lbs, and I was able to just barely get the ruler to 8 5/16 BPFSL post-reading. 8.25 used to be my “lucky day” reading and I had never come close to showing a higher number.

I will take this to mean that I’m on the right track and will continue at 5lbs for the week and do the simplified version of just running at the weight for the entire session. Not sure how much slowly increasing the weight really matters in practice vs. theory but it does not appear to matter for me. I think the heat is the most important factor here.

Posting consistently higher numbers now. Going to simplify this a little further by continuing with my 1 hour sets at consistent weight and will only measure 1x weekly on Fridays to see if pre-BPFSL is increasing. If no change at all then I will move up 0.5lbs for the next week. Measuring daily is a bit of a pain and I don’t think looking for gains daily is healthy. It’s like bodybuilding and obsessing with the mirror after every workout. Just shut up and train 🤜

I think 5lbs is the sweet spot for the time being. Pre-BPFSL now hitting 8.25 fairly easily and post is exceeding it consistently. Wonder how long it will take for EL to catch up? My NBPFSL is now 6.5 (the discrepancy between this and BPFSL is not fat pad but that I slide the ruler under the pubic bone. My bone is not quite flat so I find the deepest spot I can and measure consistently from there to avoid variances in measurement. As far as I’m concerned, NBPEL is the only number that really matters because that’s what is perceptible and experienced size.) and stretches over that length when I’m done hanging. The previous highest number I could ever get is 6.25…absolutely astonished with the results so far.

I’ll also add that I’m continuing with my own variation of the FIRE method and it’s working well for me. I did not see any advantage to slowly increasing the weight, and think the extra effort of absolute min-maxing for this is not really worth it. I think the key to this is the heat temperature range and penetration deep into the tissues. We’ll see if I can get similar success as Kyrpa and 5.5 with my own variation. I’ll update next Friday.

Feeling disappointed.

Have a painful laceration from skin ripping on shaft while hanging yesterday. Taking a break from hanging altogether and will focus on Angion. Will start another thread for that purpose and update every 30 days.

Several folks have shown picture proof of gains on the subreddit and I’m going to make a serious attempt of it. I’ll post my own picture proof if results come. Worst case scenario I decon, regroup, and have improved EQ from AM and try my hand at hanging again later.

Never really ended up doing much with Angion. Life got absurdly busy, so I decided to just do a little AM3 daily for EQ and return to hanging with FIRE (really just IRE because while using infrared the TotalMan one doesn’t appear to be in the Far infrared spectrum) now that I have more time again.

Going to start at a lower point since I’ve taken a long decon and never got up to any significant weights. Since my previous cycle barely went anywhere or really got started, I am going to consider this my true Cycle 1.

Today runs as follows:

I was skeptical that weights this low would do anything since I am applying heat below .1mpa, but I decided to try lower based on 5.5squared’s comment about starting lower “The protocol I’d recommend is from cycle 2. Start with 12-18 oz and go from there. Add weight every 2-3 weeks. This isn’t about hanging 40lbs from your penis. It’s about hanging just enough weight to take advantage of the viscous uncoupling under heat.”

It appears that my skepticism was warranted though. Hanging below .1 Mpa didn’t do anything for me. Going to increase all numbers by 1lb tomorrow and see if anything changes.

Also, AM3 definitely seems to help blood flow. Highly recommend it as part of anyone’s routine.
