The Aggregation of Marginal Gains
Hello gents, and any ladies that may frequent these parts.
I’ve been a long-term lurker on TP since February 2021 but having read various informative and inspiring threads, I thought it may be of benefit to myself and perhaps others to start one myself. I’m not attempting anything particularly revolutionary so I doubt anyone will learn anything new here but the accumulation of more data and experience may be of some value to someone, somewhere.
A little about myself before I sketch out details of my routine. I’m a 39 year old Englishman in New York. Well, actually San Francisco but Sting didn’t write that song, so.. I’m 5’11”, 190lbs, possessing classic self deprecatingly insufferable English wit. Turning to my penis which is, after all, what we’re all here for, somewhat unusually for most Brits, I’m circumcised, and less unusually it has a slight upward curve. I mention this last observation as I wondered if anyone has any anecdotal evidence concerning whether it’s more difficult to increase the dimensions of an upwardly curved penis compared to one which points ramrod straight.
My past experience of PE was undertaken about 3-4 years ago and consisted of a light stretching routine and use of an Andropenis extender. It wasn’t overly successful as I believe I was far too aggressive in my determination to increase the extender length and just wound up with a very sore member and no tangible positives. However, having decided to pick up the extender again, I returned chastened by past experience and a wiser, more humble man. That’s an intangible positive at least.
My downfall the first time around was to attempt to follow the Andro instruction manual to the letter without any regard for what my wiener was telling me when it rebelled against the treatment.
Andro sets out a protocol consisting of an adaptation period and then an evolution period. It’s quite useful as far as it goes with the instructions setting out how to calculate a starting extender length, and providing an initial adaptation schedule to follow and then an evolution schedule. Where I went wrong was to follow the evolution period too rigidly. This meant I was increasing the extender length much quicker than my dick could cope with and that led to very sore skin just behind the glans.
This time around I’ve used the Andro instructions where they are useful but have adjusted the schedule for my own purposes. I intend to remain flexible as to how I implement it, when it’s clear that my pecker wishes to deviate from the plan.
For measurements I’m personally using metric as the extender rods come in lengths which, if measured in inches, are unwieldy. However, I’ll provide all measurements in imperial as well.
I began my new PE career on 22 February 2021 and the instructions stated that I should begin with an extender length 4cm (1.57”) less than my, I assumed, BPEL - the manual didn’t specify the EL measurement type.
My initial measurement for this on 22 February was quite a lot shorter than I’d expected coming in at a dispiriting 14cm (5.51”) which equated to a 10cm (3.94”) starting extender length after deducting 4cm (1.57”). This was smaller than I’d expected as in my pomp, say at around 20/21 years old, I clearly recall measuring in the range of 15.9-16.5cm (6.26-6.5”) BPEL depending on EQ level.
I suppose that loss in length compared to my younger days is why I’ve decided to try PE again but I hadn’t realised it added up to quite so much on the ruler until I measured it. Unfortunately, I can’t recall what measurements I took when I first tried PE a few years ago.
My current hope for PE is to restore the historic measurements of my youth and I’ll consider it to have been a very worthwhile endeavour if that’s achieved and I can regularly make 16.5cm (6.5”) BPEL once more. That being said I also think my 14cm (5.51”) initial measurement on 21 February 2021 was a bit smaller than my normal EL, most likely due to less than ideal EQ at the time I took the measurement.
Girth size isn’t something I’m actively trying to increase at the moment so I’m not tracking it. Any incidental increase is welcome but it’s something I’ll think about more if the length comes along. Similarly, flaccid length isn’t something that I intend to measure. I was born a grower and I’ll die a grower.
Anyway, using my initial 14cm (5.51”) measurement I began with a 10cm (3.94”) extender length which the instructions stated I should wear for five days at 3 hours per day in the rack = 15 hours extender time at 10cm (3.94”).
I did this for two days at 3 hours each = 6 hours extender time at 10cm (3.94”).
However, having what seemed noticeably better EQ, I decided to measure again on 24 February and this came in at 14.5cm (5.71”) BPEL. I don’t attribute a 0.5cm (0.2”) gain in two days to using the extender but rather just having a slightly stronger boner when I measured it.
I felt that 14.5cm (5.71”) was probably more representative of my normal BPEL size in February and decided I’d start the programme again using that as my real initial measurement. Subtracting 4cm (1.57”) meant I began again on 24 February 2021 with a starting extender length of 10.5cm (4.13”) which I retained for five days at 3 hours per day = 15 hours extender time at 10.5cm (4.13”).
The Andro instructions stated that I should then add a 0.5cm (0.2”) rod to reach 11cm (4.33”) and keep this length for five days whilst upping the daily strap-in time to 6 hours per day = 30 hours extender time at 11cm (4.33”).
Learning the lesson from my earlier failed PE career, I decided to adapt the instructions at this point and increased the extender by less than the suggested 0.5cm (0.2”). Instead I used the smallest rod length of 0.3cm (0.12”) to give an extender length of 10.8cm (4.25”). I also felt that to go from 3 hours extending per day to 6 hours was too much of a leap and settled for 4.5 hours a day = 22.5 hours extender time at 10.8cm (4.25”).
All went well after five days and I then replaced the 0.3cm (0.12”) rods with 0.5cm (0.2”) rods meaning an increase of only 0.2cm (0.08”). This gave me an extender length of 11cm (4.33”). I was now five days behind the Andro instructions but feeling comfortable with my pace I followed the instructions for this length - five days at 6 hours per day = 30 hours extender time at 11cm (4.33”).
After five more days all remained well. Once again the instructions suggested another 0.5cm (0.2”) increase to 11.5cm (4.63”) and also an increase to 8 hours extending per day = 40 hours extender time at 11.5cm (4.63”).
However, once more I followed my more conservative approach and increased by only 0.3cm (0.12”) meaning the extender length was now 11.3cm (4.45”). I also stayed at no more than 6 hours rack time per day. I decided to remain at this length for six days, notching up five days at 6 hours and one day at 5 hours = 35 hours extender time at 11.3cm (4.45”).
I then did my normal trick of replacing the 0.3cm (0.12”) rods with 0.5cm (0.2”) so the increase was only 0.2cm (0.08”) giving an extender length of 11.5cm (4.53”). I decided to retain this length for seven days, managing six days at 6 hours and one day at 4 hours = 40 hours extender time at 11.5cm (4.53”).
By now I was some way behind the suggested extender length had I been following the Andro instructions to the letter. However, happy with my slower pace I moved up to 11.8cm (4.65”). I spent 10 days at this length, eight days at 6 hours per day, one day at 3.25 hours and one day at 2 hours = 53.25 hours extender time at 11.8cm (4.65”).
The adaptation period was now complete!
Had I followed the Andro instructions religiously, the adaptation period should have taken only 15 days incorporating 85 hours of extender time but working at my own pace it took 35 days and 201.75 hours.
With the adaptation period completed, I decided to take a new measurement on 3 April 2021 before starting the evolution period. I was surprised and pleased to come in at 15.6cm (6.14”). This compares to my (second) starting measured length of 14.5cm (5.71”). I wouldn’t attribute any of this increase to genuine new gained length but instead part of my restoration on the way back to 16.5cm (6.5”). I really hadn’t expected it to come so soon in the process though - I assume the extender use has improved my EQ for some reason and that accounts for the increase in BPEL. Still 0.9cm (0.35”) left to reclaim all of my lost length.
Per the Andro instructions the evolution period would begin 2.5cm (0.98”) less than (starting) BPEL meaning 12cm (4.72”). The instructions state that the rods should then be extended by 0.5cm (0.2”) after seven days extending at 9 hours per day. This works out as 63 hours extending at each length for the next eight weeks meaning the last week would reach an extender length of 15.5cm (6.1”).
Once again I’ve decided to throw Andro’s suggested schedule out of the window. Instead my plan is to remain at each length for 10 days extending at 6 hours per day and a last day at 3 hours. This means I’ll manage the same 63 hours at each extender length as suggested by the Andro instructions but I will also increase only by increments of 0.3cm (0.12”) and then 0.2cm (0.08”) so my personalised evolution period will take much longer and progress with shorter steps between extender lengths.
I started the evolution period on 3 April 2021. At the moment the extender is quite a lot shorter at 12cm (4.72”) than my recently measured BPEL of 15.6cm (6.14”).
So far I haven’t suffered any soreness, coldness or numbness using a noose. I expect that as the extender length increases towards my BPEL, and the tension increases with it, more pressure will be placed on my phallus. If necessary, I intend to either reduce the hours racked up per day or keep extending for 6 hours per day but introduce rest days, perhaps the 5:2 schedule or maybe split them with a day off on Wednesday and Sunday. I’ll listen to the old boy anyway and react accordingly. I also intend to introduce heat to the routine as there are a lot of TP members who swear by it.
As I said earlier, I haven’t been recording flaccid length but my sense is that it’s hanging a little heavier than before I started extending and certainly feels thicker and firmer in my hand. As a precautionary measure I’ve been applying a Vitamin E rich body cream once or twice a day to the little man just to keep him supple and in decent condition.
On 14 April, all being well, I’ll increase the extender length to 12.3cm (4.84”) and hold it there for at least 11 days at 6 hours per day before thinking about increasing.
I intend to measure again just prior to when I’m able to make the extender length 13cm (5.12”). That’s a long way off if I stick to my cautious schedule.
Happy (re)growing friends.
