Bruising - treating with cold

Hey guys. Since I’ve gotten back into PE I’ve been afflicted with some rather severe bruising, even though I’ve been doing a relatively light workout. Even after the extensive bruising (which is either painless or feels like a “surface” pain) I can still get an erection and everything, it just looks horrible!

I was considering treating it with a cold pack, as cold can reduce bruises and swelling. What I am concerned about however, is that wrapping a cold pack around my dick an hour or two after a workout (and warm shower) may undo all the expansion I’ve been working on. Can anyone share their experiences with cold as an injury treatment, or at least that it does or does not counteract gains?
