New treatment for venous leakage: embedding the deep dorsal vein of the penis

There is a new simple treatment for venous leak (e.g. deflated glans) available by embedding the deep dorsal vein.
There is also a video available that shows how "simple" this procedure is compared to other surgery. The whole surgery only takes about 15min as you can see in the video.

The video/operation was done at the

Department of Infertility and Sexual Medicine,
The Third Affiliated Hosüital of Sun Yat-Sen University
Guangdong, China

by
Bin Zhang, Md. PhD.
Jun Chen, MD, PhD,
Hengjun Xiao, MD. PhD

I think these 3 chinese doctors are also the "inventors" of this treatment as I also find these 3 names on the study that was conducted between December 2001 and November 2007

Here it is: http://www.medi … ay.php?vid=3225

Here is some more information about the treatment:

Treatment of penile deep dorsal venous leakage of erectile dysfunction by embedding the deep dorsal vein of the penis: a single center experience with 17 patients.
2009, source

INTRODUCTION: The common surgery for venous leakage was not very successful; unsatisfactory long-term results have reduced the indications for venous surgery for erectile dysfunction (ED). AIMS: To assess the outcomes of embedding the deep dorsal vein of the penis (EDDVP), a new surgical technique used in patients with penile deep dorsal venous leakage of ED. METHODS: Between December 2001 and November 2007, 17 patients diagnosed with penile deep dorsal venous leakage of ED underwent embedding the deep dorsal vein of the penis.

MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: All cases were available for follow up by using the abridged 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) scoring system and penile color Doppler ultrasound. Dynamic cavernosography were also assessed in three patients at 3 months postoperatively.

RESULTS: After surgery, 14 patients were able to achieve satisfactory intercourse and three had sufficient erection after oral sildenafil (50-100 mg). The IIEF-5 scoring changed from a preoperative mean IIEF-5 score of 8.8 +/- 3.9 to 20.8 +/- 4.1 (P < 0.05). Peak systolic velocity (average of right and left cavernosal arteries) changed from 41.9 +/- 7.7 cm/second to 44.2 +/- 9.2 cm/second (P > 0.05), resistance index changed from 0.79 +/- 0.1 to 1.00 +/- 0.0 (P < 0.05), and venous velocity changed from 8.4 +/- 4.0 cm/second to 0.0 +/- 0.0 cm/second (P < 0.05). Dynamic cavernosography demonstrated a smooth flow of the deep dorsal vein during the flaccid phase. During the tumescent phase, the deep dorsal vein of the penis was compressed between the dilated sinusoidal spaces and the tunica albuginea and resulted in venous drainage blockade. And then the hardness of erection was improved and maintained.

CONCLUSIONS: The new surgical technique of EDDVP is a simple operative procedure, which seems to be efficient in the treatment of penile deep dorsal venous leakage of ED.

Any more information on this?

How can someone achieve this during PE?

Nice, still too scary for me, as edging is very good for venous leakage plus checking for hormone insufficiency is also crucial. An operation could be effecting the blood supply that negatively for full permanent ed

I don’t understand the results at all.

And the word ‘seems’ in the conclusion is pretty off putting.

They always say ‘seems’, at least until it’s been re-done over and over again. What is important about the results to understand is that, since the DDV is not ligated but ‘clenched’ by the penis’ own tissue (which happens only in erection), the blood pressure in the flaccid state remains normal (unlike with ligation). Hope this helps.

What would happen to the blood pressure in flaccid state after ligation surgery?

Burnout,

Define “deflated glans” for me. To what degree would it qualify as ED?

I occasionally get erections where the shaft is hard and the glans is not completely engorged. I also notice that when I masturbate my glans becomes fuller near the point of ejaculation and also if I masturbate with my thumb held on the top of my erection by the base (the dorsal vein?)?

Any opinions on this as to whether it is normal or not?

Have a look here:
or just search the forum here for: “deflated glans”

Any more links with info about this?

I could not find any new information after the 2009 study, so I’ve tried to look up Bin Zhang, Md. PhD. email address to ask him directly about it but I could not find it as there are many by the name of Bin Zang.

I think this one is a real alternative to the famous Venous Stripping by Geng-Long Hsu () as it does not look as invasive (also scar-wise) and does only take 15 minutes compared to several hours.

Probably normal. If your dick gets hard with no issues and you can fuck, nothing to stress over. Personally my shaft gets hard before the head, and you can tell how turned on I am by how hard the head gets. If it’s not super hard it just means I’m not really stimulated.

If you have a hard time getting it up, or if your head stays soft, nonerect, and cold no matter what you do, you ought to have a doctor check you out.

To ligate the vein means to narrow it. So the pressure would go up.

Jesus those pictures on their are really harsh.. So to do the surgery they need to take all the skin off your dick? Pictures are a little confusing but thats kind of what it looks like.

What is unknown is how long the relief this treatment provides will last. Will it be 1 year, 5 years, or indefinite? Will the DDV eventually become dislodged or will it’s alteration cause pathogenesis later down the track? Will the pressures exerted from PE or a particularly vigorous masturbation or sex session pose potential danger to the altered vascular mechanics in the penis? These are the things I’d be concerned with in a new treatment like this. And there’s no real way of knowing, only time and repetition will show us the answers.
