avoiding nitrates while taking viagra??

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me a clear definition of what nitrates are and where they are found. I bought some xanthopamelia? and cniadium? what MagnumXL suggested, are these nitrates? can I take them with my V? Please help me, I just want to make sure I don’t do anything stupid that I don’t even realize like mixing meds etc.

Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa apparently has properties that induce smooth muscle relaxation and has been used as a treatment for erectile dysfunction. While not a nitrate, it probably should not be combined with sildenafil citrate.

I can’t imagine why Cnidium Monnieri would be used for ED except for some animal studies which showed it relaxed bronchial smooth muscle and helped people with asthma. It’s usually used for skin problems according to this:
