Has anyone used 6-oxo ?

Hi everyone, long time lurker here. Felt it was time to “comeout” and post.

Have been reading about this product (6-OXO) and was wondering if anyone has used it?

Its supposed to be a “testosterone trigger and estrogen inhibitor”

Product is made by ergo pharm. and is sold through GNC and Nutrition Express.

Any input would be great.

I would also be intirested to find out about this product. I have been searching for some good supplements to take, especially for testosterone since mine seems to be somewhat lower than average. Bump.

This product and substance is an aromatase inhibitor(AI) which means it blocks the enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen. This will increase testosterone slightly but there are better aromatase inhibitors on the market. Look for Rebound XT, Novadex XT, or Ultra HOT as they are more effective AIs and should cause a greater increase in testosterone.

Rebound XT by Designer Supplements and Gaspari’s Novedex XT apparently both contain the same substance, a steroidal aromatase inhibitor related to Exemestane. It seems to work better, or at least provide a better bang for the buck, than 6-oxo.

Reducing estrogen will cause testosterone to increase. Reducing estrogen too low for very long is unhealthy. I’d only use something like this short-term, and then only if there is a good reason to temporarily lower estrogen.

I took a bottle of Rebound several months ago. Started at 3 caps/day for awhile, then 2, then 1 (tapered down to avoid estrogen rebound). It seemed to help reduce the size of some small lumps of gynecomastia I have.

I wouldn’t take any AI for long periods unless I had a problem with excessive estrogen and was having levels tested periodically.

I might be completely wrong, but is Rebound a bit like Clomid?

Yes and no.

Clomid is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It blocks the effects of estrogen in some tissues. Your actual estrogen level when taking Clomid or Nolvadex will rise.

Aromatase inhibitors work by suicidally binding to aromatase. With less aromatization (the process by which testosterone is converted to estrogen), your estrogen level falls.

So, short and very simplified: Clomid and tamoxifen plug up estrogen receptors, preventing existing estrogen from exerting much effect. This is sort of like sticking a blank key in a lock - it’s filled so the real key can’t get in to work. On the other hand, anti-aromatase drugs lower estrogen by preventing its formation.

Has anybody actually tried 6-oxo?

I’ve tried 6-oxo and rebound xt. I didn’t notice much from 6-oxo. I would agree that rebound xt is probably better. Also there’s a product called e-form (transdermal formestane) that I like a lot too.

Where can you buy Rebound-XT?

There may be cheaper places than this, but I know bodybuilding.com has cheap shipping.

I would also add that you should not take these supplements lightly. These could potentially cause long term problems if used for too long or if you take too much. Be sure to do a Google search and do some research before you buy it. The better informed you are, the better off you are.

Yes, it can.

Hobby is correct. 3,17-Dioxoetioallocholan-1,4,6-triene is the active ingredient. It is a mild steroidal aromatase inhibitor. The keyword here is steroidal. Although it should be mild, it still has potential negative side effects. There is lots of information on it. It is also known as ATD. A google search for rebound, atd or 3,17-Dioxoetioallocholan-1,4,6-triene will pull up most of the information you’ll probably want.
