The Alchemy of Supplements, Health, and PE

To take supplements or not to take supplements that is the question. Arguments by conservatives and liberals have been raging since vitamin supplements were first available decades ago. You may argue that we get enough in a balanced diet, and it is true, very true, that a balanced diet is the essential first ingredient for health promotion. However, balanced diets in civilized countries are less than optimal because of a number of factors, one of which is processing. Bottom line is with a balance diet you will get probably roughly RDA levels of nutrients. RDA levels of nutrients is defined as that level of nutrients (vitamins, minerals, protein, carbs, fat, etc) that will prevent deficiency states plus a safety factor of 150 to 200% above. Let me cut to the chase, we are more interested in the concept of not merely adequate nutrition and supplementation, but optimal intake. Years ago, Roger Williams, a note biochemist presented the irrefutable position of biological variability. Guess what, each person is different and requires different levels of nutrients. One person may be 5’5” another 6’5”, one may be 130 lbs., another 275 lbs. His studies further indicated there could be as much as a ten-fold difference among individuals regarding what their body needs for optimal function. RDA while of some use do not address optimal input, they are only a starting point.

Your body is composed of billions of cells, each one an exquisite little factory producing a myriad of components necessary for life function and guess what they work in precise orchestration with one another (one hell of a feat). The cells take what you give them, give them a poor diet and they will do their best to limp along and maintain a lower level of functioning, now if you give them a balanced diet plus optimum supplementation, they blossom and start really humming productively with vitality. You penis works the same way, you want optimum function, than an optimum diet, nutritional supplementation, exercise will help to
transform you from an also ran to super stud.

I remember when I first started supplements, a noticeable difference in the quality of erections and staying power, ….wore out my sexual partner.

I have been very general and vague in this thread, but wanted to start with the general and eventually work toward the specifics, from the mundane to the exotic. To be continued……..

General Multivitamin+ Mineral Supplements

Thoughts on General Multivitamin+ Mineral Supplements.

One of my areas of specalization involves supplementation. (It is probably a good idea to briefly mention my qualifications before going any further with my thought on supplementation. I am a health field professional with doctorate level credentials from a major universtiy and have studied and researched extensively the area of supplementation for wellness promotion. ) Enough about that, now on to some reflections per suppelemtation.

Multivitamin+ mineral supplement. Over the last 25 years I have tried more supplements than can be imagined. Here are a few core multivitamin+mineral suppelments that really stand out for their reliability and prudence of formulation. I have taken all supplements listed below, and often rotate from one to the other.

1. Life Extension Mix a very comprehensive formulation of vitamins and minerals. This , along with many other supplements and information can be found at https://www. Vitamins and Supplements Rooted in Science - Life Extension or Vitamins and Supplements Rooted in Science - Life Extension
Ph. 800-544-4440

2. Shaklee Vita-Lea (multivitamin+ mineral) and B-Complex, see your local Shaklee distributor (phone book or internet).

3. Bronson Pharmaceuticals, Insurance Formula (multivitamin+mineral) Ph. 800-610-4848

While there are numerous other great manufacturers, the above I consider to be top notch and a good starting place for optimum health promotion which, of course, directly effects PE and libido. Bear in mind that the most important starting point is a balanced diet, aerobic exercise, weight training, stress reduction, and for those interested, spiritual investigation. Wellness involves mind, body, and spirit.

Eating Right

Eating Right.

I would like to point out a few dietary pitfalls that every single cell in your vulnerable aging body hopes you will be wise enough to avoid. The chief danger substances are sugar, salt, caffeine, and alcohol. The average American consumes 139 pounds of refined sugar and high fructose corn syrup a year. This makes up approximately ¼ of all calories consumed. These are empty calories. Because so much of our diet is now sugar, we are getting insufficient quantities of folic acid, B6, magnesium, copper, zinc, manganese, and other nutrients important to healthy bones, and other bodily parts namely, cock, dick, or penis.

Studies have indicated high sugar intake triggers increase cortisol levels. Cortisol is a primary corticosteroid secreted by the adrenal gland. Cortisol is catabolic, that is, it tends to degrade the body.

Excess salt in the diet is another negative, excess salt can induce high blood pressure, which in turn causes cellular damage particularly in the arteries in the form of atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis reduces blood flow, reduced blood flow effects erections. Other culprits here are excess cholesterol, and fatty diets.

Excess alcohol, is destructive adversely affecting metabolic processes involved in erections, therefore drink only in moderation if you care about your virility.

On the positive side, a healthy diet filled with a wide variety of fresh, unprocessed foods, including whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, is the right approach to optimizing health and PE.

I hate to interrupt your procession, but I wanted to say how much I enjoy and benefit from anything you write. You are truly a pleasure and a wealth of knowledge.

Thank you,

Thank you. These boards have been a blessing of valuable insights. To only take from and not give back, as you have indicatd, would not be appropriate. It is my pleasure to present my knowledge, experience and to be of help.

hGh release

hGH triggers

While lurking, and actively following the excellent PE advice for the last 2 months (thanks to ThunderSS, Tom Hubbard and others) e.g. – hot wraps, jelqing, Uli’s, stretching, V-stretching and hanging (5 kg), although with no measurable results yet, I’ve been very interested in learning about people’s experience with the amino acids L-Arginine, L-Ornithine, L-Lysine to increase ejaculate volume, trigger human growth hormone production, produce Viagra-like erections etc. I greatly value Merlin’s authoritative input in this regard as well as the contributions from ThunderSS, uc61la, Uncut4big and others.

I’ve reached the age (57) when hGH and testosterone levels inevitably decline so am interested in natural ways of counteracting this in the hope that this will also have a beneficial effect on my PE program. I presume that since I have maintained my ideal body weight since I was 20 and have no erection problems my healthy diet and exercise regime must be working right for me

My question: Are there any natural sources of these essential amino acids that I can exploit rather than reverting to expensive patent extracts? Surely eating a 200 g turkey steak before going to bed should supply all the L-Arginine, L-Ornithine, L-Lysine needed to trigger hGH etc.

Nudedudede

Dear Nudedudede,

To get the quantities of L ARG, L ORN and L-LYS, there are no foods that I am aware of to supply these pharmacologic levels, however there is a source you can order from to get the powder form that is relatively cost effective, BIOS Biochemicals Corp. Ph. 800-404-8185, https://www.biochemicals.com.

An alternative way to induce GH release and a host of many other beneficial physiologic responses is a regular regimen of aerobic exercise for at least 30 minutes three to five to seven times weekly. eg. running, swimming, bicycling, etc. This triggers GH incresese naturally. Aerobic exercise also enhances oxygenation of the blood, oxygen is critical for NO formation, vaso dialation and the erection mechanism, thus NO generation is enhanced by aerobic exercise.

Merlin

While your at it...

how about heavy compound movements such as squats and even benches. I often hear those are reputed to be both GH and test elevators. Any idea how they compare with the above? Seems the squats do jack up metabolism significantly , too. groa

hGH trigger

Merlin,
Thanks for the input and the link. L-Arginine for 14c/g seems not such a rip-off. I note that BIOS warns that L-Arginine may interfere with sleep when taken at night, although I would have thought that this would be the best time to take it as a GH trigger. Any ideas?
I do follow a regular regime of aerobic exercise jogging, squash and swimming 3 times a week. Maybe that’s not enough but I’ve got to find time for serious PE too if I want results.

Groa,
I haven’t tried any weight training yet so it might be worth pursuing this too. Thanks

Nudedudede

Groa,

One thing for sure, you will get well developed gluts and pecs, as far as these exercises impact on GH, I am not up on the current studies (if any) per weight training and induction of GH. You certainly have anabolic physiologic responses involving an orchestration of events where it could very well result in variable levels of GH participation in the process. GH does participate, the question is does this type exercise induce higher levels of GH. Let me know of any credible sources should you find them.

Hair Loss Prevention

A number of individuals have asked me to discuss hair loss; I have listed brief recommendations below.

With the advent of PE supplements comprised greatly of OTC androgenic (male) hormone precursors, such can impact hair loss in those genetically predisposed.

Fortunately there are a number of beneficial options. The two key hair loss-inducing agents are genetics, and testosterone. Higher sexual activity and or the supplementation with OTC testosterone derivatives such as DHEA, andosterone, etc. can elevate testosterone levels such that it will impact the scalp.

1) I would recommend for the time being to stop all androgen derivatives, letting your body produce testosterone as sole source (optional weigh off per hair vs PE). 2) An excellent multivitamin mineral supplement with niacin is Life Extension Mix with Niacin, can be ordered from Life Extension Foundation ph 800-544-4440 or ww.Lifeextension.com, niacin enhances circulation to scalp causing beneficial flushing. 3) Minoxidil 5% (most important) apply to scalp once at bedtime, wash off in morning . 4) Good shampoos are Dr. Proctors Hair Regrowth Shampoo from Life Extension Found., others are T-Gel, and Neutrogena. 5) Aerobic exercise such as running, swimming, bicycling, walking is good helps you to sweat which helps dissolve lipid (oily) deposits in the follicles so to speak. I hope this is of help.

Hair Loss Prevention

What about Propecia ? I’ve readsome good reviews of it.

PEnister

Penister,

Good point, actually forgot to mention it. Propecia has produced good results, though it is a systemic drug that binds androgen receptors body wide resulting in a modest antiandrogen effect. For example in a minority of cases it can reduce libido and cause slight depression. In most cases it does fine and is a definite tool for hair loss.

Merlin

lef

Merlin,

The lef site pretty much state that multi-vitamins which you take once per day, don’t really do anything. It’s just a waste of money ?

PEnister

P.S. I take in mind all possible commercial interests of “lef”.

Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo Biloba. The leaves of our planet’s oldest living tree provide an extract whose remarkable effects have made it one of the most widely used and thoroughly researched herbal substance. Briefly, it has been shown to result in increase in capillary and venous blood flow to the head, heart, and sexual organs. it is also also a powerful antioxidant.

Circulation is critical to the function of the heart an the sexual organs. Nothing moves efficiently without a good blood supply. in the case of sex function, the effects of ginko are increasingly well documented. Whether the primary mechanism is due to a direct local vasodialating effect on circulation in the penis or whether improvements are caused by a change in central nervous system reflexes or even a change in pituitary function is not known. It is quite possible that there is an integration of all three mechanisms.

If you take Ginkgo, be sure to take a formulation that contains a 24-percent concentration of extract. A standard dose is 40 to 60 mg. Effects usually begin after a period of weeks.
