Watch the 20/20 special on steroid use, it’s terrific. Did you know for instance that the FDA, DEA and all of the other governing bodies recommended that Steroids NOT be listed as a scheduled item. Congress pushed that one against6 their recommendations. The guy that helped get it scheduled leads the documentary. He is the one that headed the whole Lyle Alzado march. They have the medical reports from Alzado’s personal physician who says that steroids had nothing to do with Alzado’s condition or his death. They trace all of the cases and can only find twelve out of thousands that May or may not be attributable to death, but with no evidence supporting the steroid link. At the end of the special documentary, the guy apologizes and admits that his witchhunt against steroids was wrong and not based on the facts.
This is of course for healthy ADULT males. The effects on pre-pubescent males can be catastrophic, especially in regard to pre-mature hardening of growth plates, effecting linear bone growth.
Check it out if you can find it, it is great info.
Knowledge is power!
I think I’ve seen something about that, Lyle was a football player wasn’t he? If it’s the one I’m thinking of it was on A Current Affairs and they were debunking the myths behind steroid use. They had a couple of guys in their 60’s and 70’s who had been using steroids since they were 25-30. Even as old as they were they only looked 50 at most and they were fit and healthy (according to their doctor) and have never had any health problems as a result of steroid use.
I'm a big fan of 50 Cent, or as we call him in Zimbabwe, four hundred million dollars.
