Tricomin works

So,how is everyone doing on this stuff? Are you still getting results? I may try it if the results are favorable for others.

It no doubt helped thicken my hair but it’s in no way a miracle. As part of a program it is worth it but not the answer.

Thanks Dino. Are you still using in combination with Revivogen?

I agree it helps.

Personally I’m still using revigen, nioxin, tricomin and rogaine, with some very minor, but positive results. If you’re lookign for a real answer though (like massive hair regrowth), I think surgery is the only real option.

However, I think most doctors would recommend propecia + surgery if you really want results. Propecia scares me though—and the doctors told me surgery would likely result in major shock-loss unless I took propecia for a few months and perhaps as much as 8 months after. In fact, he said I should stay on propecia perpetually afterwards. Im sure it works together (surgery + propecia) but I’m not willing to risk my health for that… I tried propecia once and it has some very strange side effects, and I believe it was interfering with the effectiveness of my workouts at the gym (less gains/ worse results with more work, probably from reduced testosterone, or something like that).

Do any products actually grow hair from follicles that were previously active, but now have NO hair growing from them. Meaning, not make the hair you already have thicker, but actually start growing hair from a follicle that has been inactive for some time. Thanks.

This only works if the follicle is not dead. If the follicle is getting thin, but not completely gone, it can potentially be recovered. Assuming the hair is being lost from male pattern baldness, you need to reduce the DHT in your scalp and improve circulation to recover the follicle. I found this site very informative (it was recommended earlier this thread I think):

Hair Loss Treatments for Men | Official Guide from the Experts
This page talks about male hair loss & how to stop it.

Most of the ‘natural’ or perhaps better stated ‘topical’ treatments are only effective at stopping loss & bringing back very minor regrowth (since once DHT builds up again, the DHT sensitive follicles will start to die again).

I’ve been using nioxin for over 10 years. I can’t prove it works, but I still have most of my hair (and both my grandpas are bald). My hair is finally starting to thin up front on top, so that’s why I’ve been using revivogen + tricomin + nioxin + rogaine. My hair loss was accelerating several months ago, but now I seem to be holding the line, and I’ve had some minor, but noticable improvement (just slight gains/ improvment on my receding hairline). I think I’ve been using rogaine + tricomin for 6 months now? I’ve lost track…

Yep, that’s all I was using but I think I’m going to introduce some rogaine again and see if that helps.

Personally—I’ve been disappointed with Rogaine, I tried it several times alone, and it did nothing. However, with all 4 products combined (as mentioned earlier), it seems to make a bigger difference, I think there may be some kind of synergy.

The only thing that scares me about Rogaine is the minoxodil (heart medication). I’ve been using it anyway for about 6 months…

So how is everyone doing? I’m still just using Rogaine, the foam is great application wise but I’m not sure it is as good as the liquid. I use Revivogen shampoo and topical, and wash two or three days a week with Nizoral. I honestly don’t think any of it is helping. My front has thinned drastically in the last year, though some of that may be due to high stress. I have some fine baby hair on my crown, but after more than two years of treatment, I think it has been a waste of money. I’m leery of spending more money on different products. I think I may have to get used to the idea of being bald.

You need to get on something to fight DHT. I personally don’t feel that Revivogen is very helpful. Are you completely against Propecia? IMO, you could stop loss and gain a little back by using Propecia, Nizoral left on the scalp for at least 5 minutes 3-4 times a week, and Minoxidil twice a day.

Good luck.

"Look what your brother did to the door!"

I have been wanting to update this Tricomin thread, I had to stop using the stuff because while at first my hair first started shedding I rode it out and it did seem to start to thicken up and it looked and felt real healthy, but then I started shedding real fast and the the front of my hair looked worse than it ever did. I have since stopped and now I’m just using Revivogen and Rogaine and it has thickened back up. I would say I’m holding my own but have never been able to duplicate the Propecia and Rogaine combo for hair growth.

Leatherface, I’m not dead set against using Propecia, other than I already have bouts with ED, and don’t want to add anything that will make that worse. On the other hand, I have such a complex about my hair, that I seldom go anywhere where I can’t wear a hat, so it’s kind of a catch 22. Can you recommend a good source? Thanks!

Personally, I would go to my doctor and get a prescription so you can fill it at your local pharmacy.

If that doesn’t appeal to you, you can always order online. I would suggest buying the generic version called Finpecia at https://www.inh … usepharmacy.com . I have used that company for years and they are legit and Finpecia is actually much cheaper than Propecia.

I understand your trepidations with ED. My only suggestion is to give it a shot and see what happens; you can always stop taking it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the link and the information. How long do you have to be on it before you notice any results? Three to six months ?

No, I would say give it at least one year. It’s not like minoxidil where you can see growth in a short period of time. 5ar inhibitors like Finasteride take much longer to work, and their primary benefit is maintenance, allowing topicals like minoxidil to work better.

Finasteride + Minoxidil + Nizoral shampoo are the best options out there right now IMO. Give it a solid year, take the Fin every day, use minox twice a day, and the Nizoral 3-4 times a week, and be PATIENT. Consistency and patience is the key.

Good luck.
