Are these symptoms of Chlamydia?
Before I ask my question, I want to address those that will say I should go get tested. Yes, I know. Standard advice. I have a very very specific question however.
I recently began sleeping with a woman. We both had similar circumstances before we hooked up for the first time. We had been sexually inactive for about a year before hooking up, and we had both been tested since our last sexual encounters with negative test results. She actually had been tested mere months before sleeping with me. Even so, my paranoia began to kick in, especially since I’ve had STD scares in the past. I began checking my penis frequently for signs of discharge.
Now sometimes I think I see discharge, but then I realize I’ve been recently turned on, so that makes sense. I’ll find that my penis is leaking after watching particularly arousing porn for example. I know that is normal. I also know that the inside of the urethra is a mucous membrane, and may produce moisture/lubricant by default.
Here’s my question. Can the moisture/lubricant produced build up to a point where it could be mistaken for discharge if someone like me is checking his penis every few hours out of paranoia? I’ve had times where I take a bit of toilet paper and dry the inside as far as I’m able to reach to get rid of residual urine so that I could check later to see if there’s any change. I’ve noticed afterward that there seemed to be some sticky fluid, and I hadn’t recently been aroused. I’ve also managed to cause some pain and mild irritation by trying to dry it, which I think might possibly be triggering what I am seeing. Fluid produced in response to irritation?
Again, I know the standard advice is to go get tested, but I had not only been tested, but also took a course of antibiotics just in case before I slept with this woman, and she gets tested even when she’s not sexually active. I just don’t see how either of us could have an STD given our circumstances. Would be interested in opinions from men who know about this stuff.
