Sorry I don’t buy it - as “masturbation” anyways.
However I do believe that what you’re claiming has a resonable and definite explanation.

According to Freud, Mascow, every childhood psychology textbook, and my own personal experiences with 4 children;
Children first become sexually aware between the ages of 4 to 7. This usually exhibits itself in awareness of their own bodies and parts and those of others. Usually their parents and other siblings. After this initial awareness, the interest in sexual (if you can even call it this) anatomy is shut off completely until adolesence. Then we all know what happens.

Now I’m not saying you’re full of shit, but I doubt that what ever you were doing at age 5 could be considered masturbation in the literal sense of the words definition. Self exploration is probably more like it. I also doubt that what ever you did, you did on a consistance basis since age five unless you’re also a victim of some form of abuse, be it sexual, physical or extreme verbal (alcoholic parent?).

Now I will site from some personal experinces of life with my own children:

Daughter number one, now 11, went through a short phase of checking herself and mom out.
talking about moms breast, asking why dad was different, and touch herself a few times in the bath.
When sis number 2 came along she was ok with the thinking that went something like; hey sis you look like me, I guess this is the way we look. And that was the end of it for her …. for now.

Daughter number 2 is way more curious. (current age 9) She went through the same stuff as number one except at around age 6 or so she didn’t think twice about grabbing at someone elses breast to check them out, be it my wife, grandma, my 40dd neice , etc. She would also make vain attempts to get close (hugs,etc) with all her older females cousins, etc, so she could brush up against them and check them out this way. Both my wife and the niece above said that they had caught her looking under their shirts when they were sleeping. My wife also used to bath the 3 oldest together until a certain age, and until number 2 was becoming interested in #3’s penis

Which brings me to #3, my boy. He’s currently age 6. He’s been pulling on his wanker since he found it dangling there.

I think the problem there maybe in exactly how does one define masturbation.

Personally, then I think 7% of our members need to pick up a text book on childhood psychology.
Because there is a big difference between childhood self awareness and adolesent masturbation.
Both have different motives, meanings and end results.

I would define masturbation as pleasing myself sexually. I also did it at an early age. What’s funny about it is that it was my younger brother who taught me how to do it. Until then I was just pulling it because it felt good. My brother on the other hand had found a way to achieve orgasm.
