Cialis has its own set of downsides for many people. TANSTAAFL. (“There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch”)

You don’t know how well it’s going to work, or what the side effects will be, until you actually try it. At least nowadays you have more than one option!

FWIW - I found daily Cialis taken not every day to be a lot better in terms of negative side effects. I do take a couple ibu with it, which isn’t ideal though.

Thanks Andy. I’m going to try both.

So, if you took the low dose daily Cialis regimen you should have a high probability of getting an erection whenever you needed one? I wonder what the long term negative effects are. I guess you would also get strong night erections and morning wood which might enhance PE?

Not sure on the long term effects honestly - I imagine the ibu is probably worse than the Cialis long term.

When I’m taking it regularly, I can get a strong erection whenever I want to, and plenty of night wood.

Not sure whether it helps with PE. It probably improves my measurements because I get a 10/10 erection.

Usually I only take it on nights that I’m trying to get some from the Mrs though.

Cialis, Viagra and Levitra are all PDE5 inhibitors. You can search on that to learn more how they work. My comments refer to someone who has ED or other issue and requires one of these to generate erections. I do not know what, if any, other impacts these have for individuals taking them for recreation.

I have tried all of them and settled on Cialis as the one which works best for me. One of the more common side effects is facial flushing and sinus congestion. Levitra did this for me. I had no side effects with Viagra and Cialis, but Viagra must be taken at least 30 min before sex and is only effective for 4 hours. This does not mean you have an erection for 4 hrs. Cialis is much easier to use as it lasts for 36 hrs, so a daily dose allows one to be much more spontaneous with their sex schedule.

None of the PDE5 inhibitors will result in spontaneoous erections. I call them “just in time” drugs. You will still need visual, possibly even manual stimulation to get a complete erection. Once you have orgasm and ejaculation you still have the refractory period which will influence when you can get another erection. You can, with doctor’s approval, mix some of them as they are different types of PDE5 inhibitors, Cialis and Viagra, for example. Levitra and Viagra are similar so shouldn’t be taken together or it could lead to an over dosage. I’m not sure what an OD of PDE5 inhibitors would be but could envision massive sinus congestion and tremendous headache, at the least. Perhaps blood pressure issues.

I am unaware of any long term negative effects from their use. I have read posts of members here speculating that they become less effective over time, but I have not had that problem. I’ve been taking 5mg Cialis daily for 7-8 years.

There have been some threads which discuss using these drugs as an aid to PE, but my experience and opinion is they are not useful for PE.

Cialis also provides an additional benefit of treating BPH (prostate).

Everyday?

I get the congestion and a headache that can sometimes last for two days. I take ibuprofen with my pill but would take it more often if I didn’t have to take the ibu.

Any advice?

Did you try any of the others? Maybe you’d have less side effects from another type.

I tried Viagra - it kills my lower back - never tried anything else though.

Or a Claritin or similar for the congestion?

Oh - sorry misunderstood. No - never tried that. I don’t have much issue with the congestion- I can live with it no problem. The main thing is the headaches - like when you drink too much coffee or take too much pre-workout. Ibuprofen fixes it, but I don’t like taking 4 ibuprofen per day.

Cialis also provides an additional benefit of treating BPH (prostate).

I began taking Sildenafil (Viagra) last summer. Most recently, I began to take 20 mg sometimes as an aid in PE. It may be a lazy way to go, but it helps when I need a partial or full erection (jelqing/pumping/clamping), but am not particularly in the mood. I don’t like to have shit workouts and waste a lot of time frustrated trying to get erect enough for the pump or whatever.

I’ve used three different formulas(?), but they are all labeled Sildenafil so I assume its all Viagra. One being a 110mg slow release capsule, this is supposed to last in the body longer than the regular dose. I like this one because I don’t have to watch the time when I take it. She doesn’t know that I take them so if I down a dose of the regular tablets, but she is not feeling frisky, it becomes a wasted dose. Yes, it has happened.

There’s a 100mg tablet that seems really strong, so I stopped taking it. Although it’s the least expensive, the side effects come on full strength, within ten minutes of taking it.

Finally there are packets of 20mg tablets that come 3-4 in a pack. I like these the most. Sometimes I use a single tablet for working out. I started out taking them as prescribed (3 tablets [60mg] - 30 mins before sex), but have found that taking one is sufficient. In fact, I don’t see a difference in my EQ. The only thing to consider is if I’ve eaten within the past three hours, I may need to take all three as the 20mg may not be enough. In addition, consider the time. I’ve had success as late as 2.5 hours after taking it.

I went to my GP today for a Viagra prescription. He recommended Cialis so I’m going with that. I asked about a prescription for Rohimbine and he said that it wasn’t available anymore. I’m not 100% convinced because he was poo pooing it and talking up the benefits of Viagra and Cialis. A lot of doctors nowadays are puppets for the big pharmaceutical companies.

I’m disappointed with the 20 mg Cialis. It took quite a bit of effort to get an erection and then it kept wanting to go down. Someone gave me a 100 mg Viagra and I had a boner for over an hour. I have a prescription for Cialis so I’ll keep trying it for awhile.

I’ve read that Cialis 20mg can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours to work. Depends on your metabolism, severity of ED, general blood flow strength, etc.. How long after taking Cialis did you try to achieve an erection?
