Frenulum breve
Well today I had my first physical in ~ 7 years. I talked to my doctor about giving me a referal to a urologist because I have a slight frenulum breve. My frenulum (i.e. the bowsting of foreskin that is anchored on the underside of the glans) is a bit short and although my foreskin retracts fully from the glans when erect, the skin doesn’t become flush with the shaft, but stays bunched up. This causes some nuisence when wearing condoms because my foreskin folds on itself and half covers my glans while making penetration slightly uncomfortable in that condition.
I want to know if any of you guys have had this problem and if so, how you fixed it. I remember long ago finding info on people simply stretching the skin using some sort of topical steroid cream to make the skin stretchy and then regularly stretching it much like manual stretches. I also know there are a couple of surgical (if they can be called that) solutions short of circumcision to fix this. Frenuloplasty and z-plasty. This would be the quick and most likely most efficient solution, but I am definitely iffy about having a scalpel near my dick… not to mention that other than the previously mentioned problem, I love my frenulum, it is very sensitive, and very integral to pleasure, so I don’t want it to be simply removed.
I have kind of wandered off, but do you guys have any thoughts about how I should approach this with the urologist? Have any of you undergone a frenuloplasty and if so, how much of your frenulum remained? Was there a permanent scar? Did your foreskin/sensations feel the same?
P.S. I chose my doctor recently and for the first time chose a woman doctor. For the first time in my life, the testicular exam was pleasant, and she even talked to me about my “problem” and recommended a urologist that isn’t quick with the knife, she seemed very concerned that some of the other urologists at the hospital were quick to cut and ask questions later, I sure appreciated that.
