Yup, women vary a lot in their orgasmic capacity. Some are like most men and roll over and die (or get physically uncomfortable if intercourse is continued) after a single intense orgasm. Others can keep going and going and going…

Like you, I’ve noticed that my orgasmic patterns differ with different women. With my current partner I can consistently get to orgasm when I want to, even if we’ve been at it for a long time and I’m somewhat desensitized. With some past partners, I would have trouble reaching orgasm if I didn’t let myself go early on (before any desensitization sets in). I don’t know what causes these differences, but I think it’s a combination of psychological factors (comfort with her, concerns with “performing” impressively) and basic anatomical stuff (some women’s vaginas expand to unreal proportions if the sex lasts too long, and they get so wet that you can’t feel anything at all after a while).

I was on Effexor for IBS for a few months and I still didn’t have that much control. It varied.
