Hi,

Can someone guide me to the thread that helps getting the penis harder? My penis doesn’t get hard enough (sometime even soft) during sexual interaction. I know that it’s not a physical problem because I always get strong rock hard morning wood. I don’t know if it’s psychological. I’m 45 yo and pretty fit (work out every day). I never had this problem during my younger years until I was in my late twenties. Things progressively getting worse every year. Then I found this website that has a lot of fantastic and useful information. Please share the info to help get it harder.

ED is the inability to get or maintain an erection and can surface in men of all ages. Good morning wood is not proof against ED. ED can be psychological (temporary or situational) from stress, depression or interactions with medications. Physical ED is the more serious version. A blood test for hormone levels is a good first step to understand your situation. Check with your doctor.

An improved EQ (erection quality, i.e., harder dick) is often a result of beginning a PE program. The “newbie program” is recommended for beginners, and can be found here:

I think that at your age the best thing you could do is pumping for health overall and size. Furthermore, clamping when your dick is conditioned enough to improve more hardness.

I’m 43 years old. For me

1. doing fitness including exercises that built up your pelvic floor muscles is very helpful.

2. Also exercise that brings me to the limit of endurance like HIIT or strength exercises gives a boost for erection.

3. Enough sleep and rest is another important factor for me.

4. Edging without ejaculation is something I try now.

Starting PE adds positives effects to the other factors. But in my experiences number 1 and 2 do most.


Stats: 06/2011: BPEL: 13 cm; MSEG: 10 cm; 04/2022: BPEL: 20 cm; MSEG: 14 cm

Goal would be: BPEL: 20 cm => reached 03/2022; MSEG: 15 cm

Thank you for recommending the PE program. My thought is that if the penis gets larger, it would require even more blood to maintain the hardness, right? If I have problem getting hard at the current size, wouldn’t larger penis make it even more difficult?

Thank you for the guide. What does “clamping” and “conditioned” mean? I’ll search for the term “pump” in this forum.

Thanks for suggestion. I actually have been doing HIIT and weight training for many years. However I’m a terrible sleeper (usually get only 6 hours a day). There are always things in my mind at night.

Those are un related. ED is not caused by lack of blood in the penis. Simplistically it is a result of the valves in the penis not closing which when working properly traps the blood and leads to engorgement, i.e., an erection. The valves often do not close all the way and you get a partial erection and the blood keeps circulating. By the way, the volume of blood in an erect penis is not very much especially considering the total bood volume in an adult male is 5 liters.

You could also think about taking sildenafil (Viagra) or tadaladil (Cialis) for “emergency” situations.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

As stated above it sounds like “performance anxiety”. You need to regain confidence in your performance, perform several times and the anxiety will lessen or disappear. First, all the advice given here is excellent because it should increase your physical ability to perform. If these suggestions don’t get you there you might consider PT 141 (search this site) which may increase erections and you may even consider tri-mix injections for a limited time until you have performed a few times and regain your confidence. With the mental aspect some have had success with ED hypnosis and therapy. Good luck.
