I was going about my normal life til a friend randomly brought up the topic of morning wood. I have never really thought about it that much. He said it was a sign of good health. I didn’t say much about it.

As the week has gone on I realized I don’t wake up with an erection. I can still jerk off and get aroused when I think of sex. I am concerned that something is wrong with me. I even think back to growing up I had morning erections but I didn’t have that many.

I workout, walk about 5 times a week. It’s just bothered me since I am only 28. I feel like something is wrong. Maybe I am overthinking all of this. Am I supposed to have an erection every morning?

No. It can be a sign of good health. However it’s only a sign of bad health if your morning wood that was already regular in your life disappeared suddenly.

If its never been there, that’s your normal. You aren’t incubating some kind of hyper cancer syndrome. You’re fine.

I know erections while sleeping and morning would have to do with sleep quality and what stage of sleep you reach.

I’m not an expert but I’d like to ask what your sleeping habits are like? Also I sometimes wake up in the night with a hard erection but I rarely ever wake up in the morning with an erection.

I usually wake up with a semi or a semi semi. But it is quite easy to get super hard within the first few minutes of waking. All I’m saying is there are healthy variations of “morning wood”.

Many guys do sleep through their morning wood.

My sleep habits aren’t that great. Sometimes I sleep in til like 11am. But I do wake up a number of times during the night. Sometimes I fall asleep and am awake again in an hour. Then fall asleep and awake again the next. I never sleep throughout the night.

Bad sleep habits are hard to break. Here’s the rule about sleeping. The bedroom is for 2 things only; sex and sleep. Nothing more. No no reading,watching tv, or wood carving. Just sleep’ no lights. Wanna watch tv or read? Go do it somewhere else. Wanna sleep good? Take a nice hot shower, get into bed, no lights, and close your eyes.

Avoid agitated music, cafein drinks, heavy meals and bright environments before hit the bed to aid your sleep quality.

As long as you have erections while you sleep you’re fine. Doctors wrap a paper strip around the base of the shaft and when you wake with it torn open, that is taken as evidence that you had nocturnal erections.

Some say we can’t dream without being erect.

If your schedule has changed recently so that you’re able to sleep until you can wake up very gradually (vs using an alarm clock) your morning wood may be happening before you’re awake, and the only problem is that nobody’s awake to notice or enjoy it.

I distinctly remember getting wood asleep. Not while in bed but if I am along for a long ride and am awake at an early hour and fall asleep. I have boners. I don’t know if it’s the same thing because I am sitting up right. Not sure if that makes any difference.

And if I go back to sleep early in the morning like the other day I wake up with an erection slightly. I do think it’s due to poor quality sleep. My friend just freaked me out. It doesn’t take much.

Age effects the quality of your morning wood. As I got older, the quality of my wood decreased proportionally. Now I only get a morning semi.

I’m going to to suggest this if you happen to have a stressful day either with the type of work you do or activities that happens during the day. If you do have high levels of cortisol then you might want to do things that will help reduce the amount of stress in your life. I personally take Ashwagandha since it helps with my quality of sleep and my morning wood. The herb is known to reduce the stress hormone itself by up to 85% but again, research this if this is something you want to consider. Take the meditation route first, or have sex, or change up your diet that doesn’t promote the cortisol production. Anyways, hope this helps brother

I got a good night sleep for the most part last night. Woke up this morning with a boner. :) I’m just going to start going to bed earlier like I had been doing. I tend to sleep better when I go to bed when I am sleepy instead of staying up til midnight.

I haven’t had sex since I was 23. So I might need to stop being so prim and proper and fuck a dude. Who knows? Does your body know the difference if you’re just jerking off?

Is it possible to still be religious and moral even with fuck buddy? :)
