--Preventing prostate cancer?--

Hello, I just heard a scary figure, that 1 in 3 male adults will contract this form of cancer (prostate).

Thats pretty startling!! How can you prevent prostate cancer and keep your prostate healthy? I really don’t know much about prostate cancer, but if it’s cancer, it scares me.

It’s really very simple, Critter. As my urologist, (a very wise man), has told me, “Pop as often as you can!!” My internist, another wise soul, has seconded his opinion.

I’m guessing that “pop” would mean ejaculate. Sounds like a fun way to prevent it!

Kegels, 1000 every day should keep your prostate healthy. Sounds like a lot, but once you get the hang of it, it’s no big deal.
I’ve been trying to do mine, about a few hundred every day.

I’ve also been doing sphincter squeezes. You squeeze you butt cheeks and the muscle in there for as long as you can, then relax for a minute. I do as many of those as I can to keep my colon healthy.

I was told the same thing during a several-years seige of prostatitis, by two internists and two urologists whom I saw for treatment. They all said, "Ejaculate frequently." When I asked what "frequently" meant to them, three said, "as often as you can" and the last one, the one who finally got me cleared of bacterial prostatitis, prescribed "three or four times a week, more if you want." I’ve had him refill that prescription a number of times in the eighteen months since I’ve been totally prostatitis free.

Important to say here that it wasn’t just frequent sex and masturbation that rid me finally of the bacterial infection (a very long course of antibiotics did that). Ejaculating frequently did, though, reduce the bacterial load within my prostate during treatment and greatly relieved the prostatitis symptoms.

During the period of time when I was getting prostatitis as often as every two months, my PSA level went way up. This resulted in strong recommendations of a prostate biopsy which I resisted knowing that my PSA is usually lower than that of my age group. Now, prostatitis free, my PSA is so low that I am told that I will die of something else before I ever get prostate cancer. I still have sex or jerk off at least three times a week and sail through the yearly prostate digital exam with a clean bill of health.

It is for this reason that I am concerned for some of you guys who hold off on ejaculating for long periods of time because you think you will have larger cum loads when you do finally get off, or that ejaculating will interfere with your size gains (which it will not, if you time it right).

Take the Nike approach and just do it.

You all are still missing the point... The story was great and all but should have ass (and) some anal in it.- RWG

If I recall correctly, there was either a study or an official recommendation within the last couple of months that supports frequent ejaculation to prevent prostate cancer. I made sure that Mrs RBM saw it. :)

Don’t let that statistic scare you too much. The thing about this disease is that it can be very slow growing for a very long time. If you autopsy 100 men >80 years old who died from other causes, you’d find prostate cancer in a large percentage of them, but most would never have known that they had it. The problem with it is that like many other cancers it can mutate and start growing rapidly.

789,

:mutley:

I had an experience similar to Avocet’s when I was in my 30’s, a long siege of prostatitis, except that mine was non-bacterial. It was a bitch to go through.

My urologist told me not to hold back but to ejaculate right away. I would always hold back to last longer, and then I would end up not ejaculating every time I had sex.

As soon as I followed his advice, no more prostatitis. Simple enough, right?

Thats interesting. Does that say anything about the potential ramifications to the guys who practice orgasm without ejaculating?

A survey made not so long ago came to the conclusion that about 6 ejaculations / week keeps the prostate in top condition. So. Keep on wanking.

I think edging is safe and practicing multiple dry orgasms is safe, IF you do get off with a wet one at the end of the sex or your masturbation session fairly “frequently.” Certainly it isn’t going to hurt anyone to edge awhile and not cum.

It’s the pattern of these long droughts of a week or more we ought to avoid when there is otherwise plenty of reason to have sex or to masturbate, libido being high.

The logic has always been, “abstinence from ejaculating is perfectly healthy because of the built-in, wet dream mechanism.” This is bull shit. Few men, very few, have wet dreams in any reasonably healthy pattern. I’ve had dreams in which I dreamed I came, but I didn’t. I don’t think I’ve had a wet dream since I was 30, or before.

I had 2 wet dreams in my whole life, I’m soon 22 years old. I think I masturbated too much to get any wet dreams.

Girth gains for better sex, length gains for a worthless ego boost.

Gentlemen,

Ref that very scary word ‘Cancer’, one of the most thought-provoking websites about alternative approaches (outside of Dr Ralph Moss’s materials) is at the following link:

http://www.cancertutor.com

There is a wealth of information here, not just about what to do about a disease condition, but one can draw inferences equally powerful about how to prevent it.

All the Best,

Lots of information about prostate cancer, especially what foods to eat to help prevent it:

-My dear boy, do you ask a fish how it swims? (No.) Or a bird how it flies? (No.) Of course not. They do it because they were born to do it...
