Remote Ischemic Conditioning
Just read an article about using a blood pressure cuff for five minutes at a time to trigger a vascular physiological response, with wide-reaching effects similar to doing regular exercise. Trying it out myself as soon as I can find my old blood pressure cuff.
I wonder if clamping triggers a similar response on a local level? Some studies seem to indicate that 10 minutes in a penile tourniquet causes a spike in VEGF (a vascular growth factor), and the Remote Ischemic Conditioning exercises seem to employ similar durations and practices, oddly enough.
Try doing a google search for "remote ischemic conditioning," check it out!
