I would never let any son of mine be circumcised at birth.

I’ve read about babies that have died because they developed an infection as a result of the surgery and were not able to fight it off, also about boys who had about their whole penis’s removed, or even boys whose surgery went so wrong, their parent’s were convinced by the doctors to then administer a sex change.

No thanks.

Cutting off too much skin leaves micropenis?? Maybe a tight erection, not sure about having a smaller penis, can anyone verify?

So far a few fractions of inch increase on base erect girth.

I understand we all have different opinions about what we ourselves prefer.

What I meant with “please don’t do this to your children” is that you should not put this preference on our child. He cannot choose himself.
We could talk for a long time about possible positives and negatives.

I really don’t care what people do to themselves, OK? I hope most people would agree with me on this.

Glad to see you return to this thread refresh. I was beginning to wonder if you just like to stir up trouble then sit back and watch the arguments.

A little Internet research can go a long way in answering questions. This topic has been discussed here several times. Both sides have given their reasons for having/not having the surgery, told of their experiences and made their points for and against it. So using our search feature might be the first thing you do when you have another question. Or use Google or some other Internet search engine to see what’s out there on the subject.

Regarding your specific question about micropenis. No. Circumcision does not cause it. It is a congenital condition present at birth. Here’s one source for information: http://www.heal thsystem.virgin … gy/mcrpenis.cfm .

Thanks for your response. I took a look, and that particular post was not representative of the level of your posts in the past.

You don’t have to explain your sense of humor, of course. The LOL itself is not an an attack on the original poster. Sometimes things strike one as funny, and it’s hard to articulate it beyond that, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Still, if you were able to figure out what about that you found amusing, it might offer some interesting insights.

People find humor in aspects of the darkest subjects, so I’m not going to take you to task for finding something funny about the comment of someone who is against taking a child, strapping him down, separating his foreskin from their penis like you would separate your fingernail from its bed (since the foreskin is attached when you’re young; it generally doesn’t separate until you’ get a bit older), and then cut it off without anaesthesia. That’s not something that I find particularly funny; I find it to be pretty horrifying, to be honest. Still, sometimes people laugh at things because the subject makes them deeply uneasy.

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.

Seems like the reason he was laughing was because it was, to him, a comment so ridiculous it was worthy of a laugh.

Cutting off a fairly important part of your junk will not make you cleaner. Washing it will.

Saying a circumcision is more likely to lead to a viral infection is like saying your tonsils will. Sure it’s true, but it’s still a very stupid reason to take them out/cut it off as one of it’s main reasons for existing is to stop germs from getting inside of you.

But the foreskin also serves the same purpose as an eyelid. Keep things lubricated, healthy and happy. It is a fact that if you are cut that your head dries out and becomes less sensitive. This doesn’t mean sex doesn’t still feel good, it just doesn’t feel as good. Think about that for a second. Think about how good sex is supposed to feel now. Kind of seems really mean to take that away.

There is also one genetic defect in the penis that can only be fixed by use of the foreskin. I can’t remember it’s name but it is where the opening of your penis isn’t where it’s supposed to be it down the head or even on the shaft in some cases if I remember correctly. Only way to fix it is with the foreskin. I think most chicks would be more freaked out by that, then a guy is is you know.built the way he is supposed to be.

I’m tired of posting why circumcision should be rightly called genital mutilation so I’ll leave with some links to government websites and task forces and other national agencies/group and whatnot:

Circumcision Resource Center - Male Circumcision Education
National Organization of Circumcision Information Resource Centers Intactivists

This is no laughing matter and it needs to stop.

I’m Jewish and my family and friends have parties to celebrate circumcision or the “Brisk”, mine included. Just tradition I guess.

You guys are acting as if circumcised people are the victim of some horrible crime. The majority of circumcised guys here will tell you that they wouldn’t have it any other way, and many girls for that matter.

Your rabbi would be appalled.

What a good oil/moisturizer to keep the glans in a quasi ‘pre-cut’ condition?

I’m guessing the majority of circumcised guys haven’t really given it any thought one way or another.

And as for the women, when I get a vote on their breast implants, they can have a vote on my circumcision status. Until then, we can just deal with each other the way we are, and accept (or not) what we find in the other.

I stay away from the argument about circumcision for religious reasons. However, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to hope that parents would make that decision to perform circumcision (or not) based on medical reasons, not just because Dad was, or because eveyone else is, or it’s the American way, or for some sense of aesthetics. If it’s not done for medical or religious reasons, it’s painful discretionary surgery with a risk of side effects and complications higher than the incidence of the conditions it is supposed to address.

And yes, I do have a source on that:

What is reason behind majority of Americans, unlike Europeans, doing non-religious routine circumcised to their children? After all language, cultures, ancestry, etc are very close.
