Can anyone explain what would be the perfect diet for penile health. I suffer from ED and have been taking generic viagra and it has worked a treat. I have now told my girl friend (who is very understanding) and I have stopped the tablets. I can get hard whilst with her (only when I’m not thinking or worrying about it) but dont know if it will stay up long enough for penetration..

Yesterday I was really horn’d up with her for several hours and the old boy just didn’t want to know, in fact he went even smaller than normal flacid state, you know the sort of state he goes in if a doctor looks at him.

I am looking to improve my general health and try and build the confidence to get over this problem.

I have done PE but find that jelq’s tend to de-sensitise my penis so I have stopped them for now incase it my penis that isn’t sensitive enough. I do still do kegels daily when I remember to.

Can anyone offer me any advise on what to do? I am 28, don’t smoke and only drink twice a week and not a lot. What is the perfect diet? What is the perfect excerise to do? Should I stop drinking tea and coffee and drink more water? Can my girlfriend do anything else to help?

There is so far as I know no perfect anti-ED diet. If you are eating in ways the world generally regards as “healthy” then you are doing the right things.

Regular physical exercise is very important, though, and that can be as simple as serious walking or as complicated as you want to make it.

Caffeine is a known erection killer. If you drink a lot of caffeinated beverages, drop them or cut down and see if you notice a difference.

There are also a number of over-the-counter drugs that interfere. If for example you use “Sudafed” or other nasal decongestants, these will make you limp. (They don’t put that on the package description, BTW.)

In general, if you are having a healthy pattern of nocturnal erections (do you wake up often with morning wood?) and have firm erections when you masturbate, your plumbing is working but your head is getting in the way. From what you describe, this may well be the case. You worry you won’t get hard, and you don’t because you are worried, etc. etc. etc., around and around. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Just a suggestion: Take the pressure off youself and ask your girlfriend to take over. Let her do the stuff you normally may do - initiating sex or taking responsibility for all the foreplay moves. Let her use her own imagination on you. It may make all the difference to you and she may very much enjoy the shift of gears.

Chec k your blood presure. Tea and coffe are great for wood especially green tea. Walking is great for penile circulation as well a tai Chi and squats and lunges.

I’m 50 years old, have low testosterone, for which I receive bi-weekly injections, and just started to accept the fact that I have some ED as well. According to one web source, ED can be a total inability to achieve erection, an inconsistent ability to do so, or a tendency to sustain only brief erections.

My problem generally falls into category two or three. One of the ways this manifests itself is that I’ll start some foreplay with a woman, get an erection, but then I intentionally(?) slow things down to make sure she is satisfied, and my mind takes over with thoughts about technique, etc. By the time the woman has had a few orgasms, and I have given myself permission to resume, my dick is drooping.

Most of the time I can get it back up with a little oral assistance, and things usually work out okay, especially because the aforementioned techniques have translated into multiple orgasms for the woman, which is generally good for repeat business.

I’ve also started using Cialis occasionally, which I like better than Viagra, because a small dose works for me for a couple of days.

Many women either do not know, or forget, that men with ED require fairly consistent direct penile stimulation in order to keep their erections going. If you go off into Technique LaLaland and she isn’t giving you any direct stimulation while you are figuring your next move, odds are you will go soft in spite of the PDE5 drug you are on.

Maybe you two can have a talk during some quiet, cuddly time. Explain to her what kinds of touching and stimulation turn you on so that you can continue to participate in the sex you’re having without this back and forth from square one. Women, btw, love it when men ask their help - unless of course you suggest something that is absolutely repulsive to them. :)
