A few unanswered questions for a newbie
Hey guys, I’m sort of starting this up again. About 9-10 years ago I briefly used an extender for a few weeks, but found it hard to use, and stopped, although I believe I had slight improvements in length. My main concern was straightening out a bend. I’m 6.5 BPEL right now, but I’ve got a 20-30 degree bend to the left, that I’d like to get sorted out. I’m 30 years old. I have good quality erections, and it doesn’t impede me during sex, but the curve prevents me from going as ‘hard’ as I’d like, out of fear of bending/snapping it. It’s sort of a mental hangup that was creating problems, so I wanted to improve it. If I happen to grow an inch, hey, I won’t complain. My biggest concern, however, was getting this straightened out. Now I would love to go from average to above average, but I have extreme fear of injury. I have ruled out any jelqing for this reason, since based on my research, it’s the most potentially harmful. I may eventually try very light/moderate forms, but have completely abstained. So with that background info, here are my questions.
When I was doing this a decade ago, I just bought a cheap leluv extender, with a bunch of extender rods and a noose. It was dirt cheap, but seems relatively effective, minus my fear of pinching my penis when pushing down on the spring to insert my penis. I have had a few close calls already, and was considering upgrading to a higher end extender for this reason alone. Secondly, the noose is hard for me to use without cutting off circulation, or it falling off. I believe I have a smaller frenulum (yes, I know jelqing helps). I have, however, figured out a technique in the last few days that may seem to be working.
Do you really always have to start with the ‘newbie’ routine?
The general rule here is to start with light exercises and move to appliances later and more rigorous exercise. This contrasts with what I’m reading about Peyronie (I believe based on self diagnosis, that I would be right around the threshold for Peyronie, or just outside of the range), which seems to explicitly recommend extenders. I’ve also read mixed stuff about Peyronie risk with jelqing. I want to make this perfectly clear. Any exercise/routine with the potential to make the curve worse, I want nothing to do with. I am okay with having a 6.5 inch dick, but I’m not okay with having a 40 inch curve preventing me from having sex. So, in short, am I risking injury by just extending for now? I do occasional warmups in the shower, lasting 3-4 minutes. I find I can get way more tension with my hands.
How much tension, should I really feel?
I’ve heard people say that you should feel some tension. I cannot get the extender on right in order to get a similar level of tension to if I were to do it manually in the shower. When I put it on, I feel a bit of tension for a few seconds and it slowly goes away by about 30 seconds. Usually after about 20 minutes, I’ll screw the rods to increase the tension, and feel a slight bit of tension again, that quickly goes away. Is this normal, or is my device simply not providing enough pull? I have only ever used this device, and I believe I was somewhere between 6 to 6.2 before starting a decade ago. I can think of no other explanation for this slight increase, so it seems like it may be working? Just wondering.
Should I upgrade my extender?
Enough background info has been provided for this question. I am just seeing if there are any real advantages. Having an extender with a strap seems like it would make a more ‘even’ pull, which is of the utmost importance with Peyronie. I don’t mind spending 2-300 if I need to, but not if it’s just for marketing. I actually just went back to school, so money isn’t quite as free as it was before.
I have tried relentlessly searching all of these things, to no avail. Either way, this forum has been an amazing source, so thanks for the great material.
