I’m using “the glop”; mainly a mixture of cocoa butter and hyaluronic acid. I make a fresh batch every couple of weeks.
The cocoa butter is a good lubricant, and is supposed to be good for stretch marks. It has almost no odor, at least to me. I used to use shea butter, but the “pleasant nutty odor” some people describe simply came across as “stinky” to me. I used all I had up, but I don’t plan to buy any more.
Hyaluronic acid is used as a moisturizer in high-end skin care products. I mix about 50/50.
The cocoa butter has a higher melting point than shea butter; in a cold room it’s almost solid. I tuck the vial into my armpit to warm it up before use. It wasn’t a problem with shea butter. The shea butter mixed easily with the hyaluronic acid; the cocoa butter doesn’t, though eventually (a week or more) they will blend together.
Sometimes I mix other stuff in as experiments, but so far I haven’t found anything that makes a noticeable improvement.,
“The glop” doesn’t make surrounding areas slimy like Vaseline does, and it doesn’t stain bedding or underwear. It’s not so slippery it’s hard to hold on when urinating. It’s not really slippery enough for edging, at least in my opinion. I use some lotion along with it when doing that. It will last about eight hours before being absorbed. (i.e., sleeping naked without sheets, so nothing to rub it off)
