Excellent question raising a fundamental topic of PE: optimum frequency.
One question is “how much can the dick take without showing negative PI’s?”.
The other question is “at what frequency is growth fastest?”.
The answer to those two question is not always the same frequency.
Let’s assume you work by a monthly scheduling. So your period is one month. You keep the routine stable, just modifying the frequency and measuring once a month.
- The first question can be resolved pretty easy. Start on a low frequency and increase the number of on-days until fatigue or less growth per period shows.
As an example, you may find out that for your given routine, your dick can take a 4on/2off frequency without complains.
- The second question can be answered basically in the same manner, only I would recommend to do two- or even three-period steps for increasing.
As example, you may find out that a 2on/2off frequency produces fastest growth over a period of let’s say 3-4 months.
Therefore, in that example, the decision should be easy, as a 2/2 gets better results than a 3/2. You just need the courage to overcome the mental setting of more-is-always-more and step back to the 2/2 frequency.
The example shows that more on-days do not always produce more or better results, as the optimum frequency is highly individual.
In my opinion, this is less depending on the type of exercise you do but more on the individual body’s need for rest and growth.
The general idea of doing more rest days if you have an intense routine does not seem wrong to me. But I am afraid to tell you that you have to find it out yourself.
