BTC or SD?

I am a little confused about the difference between BTC (between the crotch) and SD (straight down) when hanging. Does it depend if you are sitting vs. standing?

Straight down is literally straight down. BTC (between the cheeks, not crotch) is down and back, betwen your legs. Hope I explained that well enough.
