I swore there was a post a few years back(when I was lurking and had never posted) that talked about this, but now that I’m actually PEing and need to find it, I can’t.

Have any of you noticed that you don’t gain while you are either doing a lot of cardio and/or are in fat loss mode by restricting calories, or perhaps even noticed over the course of a long period of time that you gain in PE while eating an excess of calories and don’t gain while you are trying to lose fat? I do some weight work a few times per week, and light cardio or more intense racquetball 4 or more days per week and I’ve been doing that for some time now, and I generally am trying to restrict calories as much as possible(which is to say, not very possible, but I am maintaining or slowly losing weight, so I’m certainly not eating any excess. I’ve been shooting for about 2000 calories a day, 5’9” 195). I started my new PE routine about 2 months ago, I’m not sure if that’s long enough to get results anyway, but in any event, no gains at all noticed and I’m wondering if I should desist in trying to lose that last 5 pounds of fat in favor of a couple months of excess calorie balance to facilitate PE gains..

Anyone have any specific diet they follow to enhance PE? By diet in this context I mean more like a certain amount of calories above or below basal metabolic rate, but if there are specific foods good for it, that would be of interest as well.

Hmm the only thing I know that has anything to do with both my dick and exercise is that after a good cardio workout I turtle like crazy. Embarassing.

Yeah, don't worry. It did not take me 8 months to get these gains. I was more off than on when it came to PE :O

Well, I know about the turtling, but I meant cardio more in a sense of whether cardio interdicts calories you need for gains or simply whether the catabolic state you get into from cardio affects your PE gains.

And, I didn’t think to ask this specifically before, but can you offset that simply eating enough, and thus be able to continue with heavy cardio while PEing? That summer is over and not getting any sun is physiologically depressing enough, not being able to run or play racquetball daily is going to make it worse!
