Coconut oil - wow, why am I just learning about this now...

Wow, is all I can say.

Cheap, readily available, fellatio and vagina friendly, smells nice.

It also seals my pump really well, probably because I am not afraid to use it liberally.

While I was impressed with Glyde, it is a lot more expensive, and hard to get here in Canada.

Both suppliers want a minimum $70 CND shipping fee!

Water based lubes are so expensive, and I hate the sticky feeling afterward, I feel like I need to shower.

I tried olive oil, but I found it discolored the silicone seal I was using. I now have a silicone STJ seal. These are expensive and hard to get (not that it was not worth what I paid for it , as it is probably best PE tool I have invested in) but I cannot afford to replace it.

Coconut oil I feels as though I can just rub in and go about the day feeling all soft and smooth.

I don’t even feel the need to wash my pumping equipment, a wipe down seems like it is just fine.

I felt the need to share this realization, and since coconut oil didn’t seem to have it’s own thread, here it is.

No secret here, several of us use it and recommend it. First dedicated thread about it though. Spread the word.

I’m using fluid silicone, but this sounds good and will be tried.

Coconut oil is all I’ve used for a few years now.

Love the feel of it. I prefer the one that is liquid at room temperature.

Fun fact, raw coconut oil sets solid at around 25 degrees C, so it will melt in your hands when solid :)

I don’t use it for my unit because it has a tendency to dry my skin out unless I’m using it daily. But for my hair it’s a bloody god send, and for cooking.

I believe it has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties as well, and is often used for skin conditions. Either way, the smell isn’t half bad and I find the viscosity just right for jelqing.

Need to try. Agree about water-based lubes. I’m completely dumbfounded as to why this garbage is pushed so heavily. Other than its compatibility with condoms, it simply does not lubricate.

Coconut oil is the best oil based lube I’ve tried, even better than vaseline.

I’m not sure what would happen if coconut oil got on an o-ring, since oils tend to degrade rubber.

The appeal of water based lubes is definitely the clean up and the lack of degradation to parts, depending on the lube.

You can make water based lube to reduce the cost. I’m still trying to work out the best recipe. My current version doesn’t have as good of properties for pumping as coconut oil, but the clean up is easier if you’re the type to clean your tubes after every use. Keeping PE simple is important for me since I will not do a difficult routine as frequently as an easy one.

+1 coconut oil, I feel like it helps with skin stretching as well. Does anybody else have more skin flaccid growth with coconut? So far, it’s been better for me overall.

I realize this is an old post, but:

You can get a lot more mileage from water based lube if you add a little water when it gets sticky.

I keep meaning to get a little spray bottle of distilled water to keep next to the bed for when my wife and I are playing with lube.
As soon as it starts sticking, just a little spritz of water and it’s good to go again ;)

So I’m hearing great things about coconut oil (as a lubricant) but could anyone share how their partners feel (or whether they can tell a difference)? Particularly women but any partner’s experience will do. Sounds interesting to me, surprised I haven’t heard more about it following the PE scene for over 15 years.

Not sure about using it with a partner, my wife will be in menopause in a few years and then we might need the lube stuff and I will for sure experiment with all-natural coconut oil. I would say you need to try it and if it works, great, if not it’s not for her.

For just PE, I find it to come off naturally after a quick shower, within two hours she can be on it with oral and has not said anything about feeling any different

My tantric instructor like the solid oil as it is less processed and as mentiond, it ,let’s as soon as it is on the body. She has a small bowl of oil in front of a fan heater.
