I see info from time to time about collagen affecting your penis gains or how the penis may gain or respond from working out. My questions is I take a collagen supplement for hair and skin health how will that affect the way my penis responds to exercise and if so how?

When proteins are ingested stomach acid denatures them into long strands of proteins without shape, later in digestion individual amino acids are transported into the blood stream. Depending on gut integrity, more or less denatured protein can slip between cells of the digestive system lining, but if you have functional stomach acid production collagen will be denatured, even if collagen was not denatured I think it’s unlikely to pass through the digestive system lining complete.

Eating collagen doesn’t give you more usable collagen in your blood stream. Collagen is a waste product of meat production, and a good company tries to find a market for waste products. However, collagen is notoriously contaminated with heavy metals like lead that replaces sulfur in various bonds between segments of proteins. There’s no real reason that collagen couldn’t have heavy metals removed from the product other than consumers don’t ask for it and it costs a little more money, almost a negligible amount of money, to do.

There is no safe amount of lead in the diet. Every picogram recyles through the body nearly endlessly deforming proteins.

it’s simple - any protein you ingest will be broken down into amino acids. that includes collagen supplements. The key is to make sure you keep all necessary amino acids covered with good protein. it’s really not that hard: read the labels of the supplements you take. you may discover your collagen supplement actually overlaps with your regular protein shake.
