Cool Down Or Heat Down ?

I’ve heard that a cool down is better after PE so I’ve been cooling down 10 minutes with ice water.

Does anyone have any opinions on this subject?

I’ve always used heat. For me that’s what’s worked best.

Do you think that’s enough?

The theory behind cool down is that collagen will “solidify” at a “expanded state” and a small % of the temporary expansion will becoming permanent.

Unfortunately, did not work on me. Used cool down for 2 minutes after my session: washcloth dipped into ice and water.

If you decide to try the cool down, don’t exceed 2 minutes.

Ok thanks I think I’m just going to do heat.

I think cool down is done to speed up recovery. At sports cold/hot showers are commonly used to do this. When alternating hot and cold water it will help to speed up circulation and remove waste etc stuff caused by heavy training

This heat thing is one thing among many I learned on this site.
