You maybe are referring to PC muscle, anyway I’ve noticed the same problem: if I flex and hold that muscle I cum faster too. Instead of kegel, you may try the reverse kegel during masturbation (this is the exact opposite of holding: releasing or push out).

If you don’t exaggerate or put too much pressure in every exercise, take the proper break, follow the instructions with no hurry to achieve sudden results, feel your body, and especially use the common sense ;) , you more likely cannot have any side effect. Regarding your problem: It sounds like you’ve been reading Dr. Lin’s sites. The only way I know of stopping yourself from doing it is to make yourself concentrate on what you’re doing when you masturbate. Consciously try to relax the muscle. I don’t know of any other way to keep you from doing it.
