Glans Discomfort

Glans Discomfort

Hi forum:

I had been doing newbie routine for several months and tried advancing to vac extending a few months back.

After a couple of weeks of sessions (couple days on, couple off for ~2 hours per session) I noticed some discomfort in the glans. Probably best described as a mild bruise, but really almost no discoloration. With pressure and inspecting closely it looks a bit purple near the top/outer edge but otherwise normal. Light touch or pressure on top side or tip of glans when flaccid causes the discomfort/tenderness until released. Then it feels fine. Doesn’t bother me at all when erect.

I stopped all PE and it’s been like 5 weeks. Sex/masturbation feel fine so I haven’t stopped entirely. I was hoping by now it would have recovered but unfortunately no.

Wondering if this sounds familiar to anybody? Does a bruise sound like the right way to describe it? Maybe nerve damage?

Trying to get an idea of how long it might take to heal. Thanks

Most likely slight nerve irritation.

It will heal. 3 to 6 weeks.

I once caught the tip of my dick with a belt buckle, thouggt I was done for.

I was numb for 3 weeks. Not funny.

Thanks for the response XL-

What’s your opinion on activity? I assume it’s given no PE. Would sec/masturbation delay healing or be irrelevant?

Recommend ice? Heat? Or just good old fashioned patience.

I hit the tip perfect with a swing belt and metal blunt on the tip. I never stopped PE or fucking.

Im usually the type to work through small pains and twinges.

BIB mentions this.

Do u pump? I think light pumping helps healing IMO.

If you are going to vac hang or extend using standard equipment you have to get used to minor stuff on the glans, like focal edema, little bruises, transient insensitivity, stinging, etc. The vacuum created in the cup puts focal tension at the tip, especially if you evacuate all of the air or water (if you use the water trick). Plus, over a session I’ve found I have to occasionally evacuate more from the cup as the glans pulls away from the end bit by bit over time. This space that opens up leads to more focal pressure at the tip, which leads to some of these issues. More weight leads to more vacuum at the tip. And finally there can be some discomfort if the glans is right up agains the valve when you evacuate.

So lots of factors to deal with.

I get something along these lines pretty much every session. Usually it is transient. Occasionally it takes a bit longer to heal, like a blister (rare for me these days but still happens when I do something intense like add vibration without taking enough care) or a bruise.

There are all kinds of tricks using tape and covers and cloth, etc, depending on your issue, but in the end, like XL says, you kind of have to be ok dealing with them.

In the end vac hanging/extending is still way better than compression or noose techniques, IMO, so its worth figuring it out and dealing with what comes up.

I kind of think of it like the bumps and bruises you get going to a martial arts class or playing a sport. Not what you hope for on any given day, but part of the game. You get better at avoiding and dealing with them as you get more experienced, but you have to keep going to get experience.

BTW, I mentioned standard equipment because there are other more expensive options that might work better. A member on the board has had great experience with the Stealth for Men vacuum hanger setup and just talked me into trying it after my last blister. He says it has addressed all of his issues with high intensity extending. So I’m giving that a try but haven’t received mine yet. I mention it in case you want to look into another option, though it is way more expensive than other set ups.

Good stuff Td.

I remember about 2 years ago when I had this nagging sensation right side of shaft. I tried a few weeks off and it would just come back.

I did this a few times. Finally I just ignored it. Went away. I just figured it was my body not wanting to change. Not an option.

TenaciousD summed up my experience perfectly and I’ve been at it for over a year now with the vacuum cup. Silicon glans protectors have made a big difference for me. Also, use the smallest cup that you can squeeze your glans (with protector on) into.

No but I’ve considered it. Do you have one you recommend for beginners?

The main reason for the post is that it’s been lingering for over a month now. So if it’s a “happens all the time” thing, it would basically never go away. It’s not a debilitating pain or anything, but seems less like an everyday contusion.

I have VacExtender 5 (small cup). Happy with it, but I don’t have experience to compare it to.

Thanks to everybody for input.
