Great reasons to drink a lot of water.

Well I am fortunate in that I have always drank alot of water.I buy bottled water but I live in a city where the water has been tested and rated one of the three best in the nation by the E.P.A. For what that’s worth.I would say my normal water consumption is easily a gallon and a half to two gallons a day.More when it gets into the dog days of summer , as I work outside in 95 degree heat everyday.I can tell by my flaccid hang whether I’m drinking too little as it does effect my hang.

Formula 1, does your multivitamin pill contain high vitamins B content?

I go with megadoses of vit C and E after meals. Fuck knows if it does diddly squat, but it’s good for general healthy living!

It is one of the higher components in the vitamin along with about 4 or 5 other things.

That is exactly how I tell whether or not I am getting enough water. It’s like a ‘divining rod’ :rolling:

It says 115 ounces for me. I am just about on that, I have one of those big Bubba Keg insulated mugs from Wal mart, holds 54 ounces, I usually drain it twice a day.

Tap water - depends on where you live, of course. I grew up in Baton Rouge which has received awards for good tap water. The taste of the stuff where I live now is not too bad, but I stopped drinking it when a diver drowned and got stuck in one of the water storage tanks.

How can anyone hate the “taste” of water?

The very best water I ever tasted in my life came directly from a glacier.

Growing up in Washington State, I spent a lot of time in the mountains. On one of my many trips to Mount Rainier, I once had climbed far enough up with my Father to reach some of the melting snowbanks on the trails. At a place where the snow edge was melting, I took a drink of some of that snow and it was extraordinarily good. Very clear and fresh.

Don’t recall ever having water just like that again in my life.

Water is a colorless, odorless, tasteless liquid. Good tasting water is definitely water with something else in it. Water with a lot of lead in it is very sweet tasting and often confused with having “good” water.

The best water I’ve ever tasted was back when I was playing golf. There was a culvert pipe stuck verticle in the ground with a faucet in it. It was between number 8 and 9 holes. Man it tasted great. Probably because it was not that cold.

Okay, whatever. I guess I’ve always been able to hit my ball past that hazard.

Anyway, I don’t recall noticing any lead smelters up there on Mount Rainier. There was once a smelting factory in Ruston, Washington next to Tacoma. Major pollution source. Might I have been drinking lead that had made its was all the up through the atmosphere to be deposited again on the Mountain? Hmm…..

This was a generation before the availability of store purchased bottled water. Even with names sounding like they came “right from the mountain glaciers”, they are no where in the same league.

I am certainly no water expert, so I don’t know anything about what causes water to taste or sometimes appear as it does. But whatever I had sampled then was straight from natures’ cycle without any other processing. Maybe all of those other mountain climbers out there might back me up….

Lead in the water? Man, that would increase a flacid hang.

Yes! Hooray for water! I am definitely a fan unless it’s from a well. The grossest water I’ve ever tasted came from a well.

I disagree. There is definitely good and bad tasting water. The tap water where I live taste like chemicals. Bottled water is always better.

Around my area the tap water is safe to drink..not like some other areas. If you live in the city you shouldn’t drink tap water unless you have a brita filter or somehting.
