Importance of edging

I know I have to abstain from porn for my “detox” but does that also include looking at pics of girls in swimsuits too, or is that classified as something else? Or must I refrain from any sexual fetishes etc?

I would say everything. I’m going through the same thing, and I can tell you. When you start to get better, you will have a hole different reaction to everything, even the pictures that you now judge as not quite sexual.

I have enough kids for now - correction. My gf doesn’t take well to female contraceptives it has a terrible effect on her libido and I hate condoms.

You sound depressed I see your going through a breakup of some kind? I’ve been though a lot of relationship issues if you want to talk about it.

Maybe it’s something about 35 but I too have had EQ issues since hitting 35 and I’m a month away from 36. As far as edging, I think it’s critical to PE, years ago when I first found PE edging was my main focus and I grew because of it. Looking back it was probably just better blood flow but either way it worked. I wish I had gone down that road again when I got back into this instead of going right to devices. I now edge using a cockring or whiling clamping. So unfortunately it hasn’t helped this time around with these new middle aged EQ issues but it also can’t hurt.

Also I want to add thanks to our awesome forum I can pin point when it started because we encourage each other to start progress reports. So I wrote about it back in May of 2017 and had it moved into a progress report I’d advise you to do the same to keep track. I haven’t seen you mention kegels at all yet, they have been mentioned a few times. You really should look into them if you haven’t yet.

Also, the mind is powerful, I think at this point your anxiety is a huge reason to it. Iam healthy and can obtain great erections, but I can’t “force” myself to an erection just to do it at random times. It all happens in the moment, thus why you still get boners, when you are not trying to.

There’s no doubt that giving up on porn in your case will help with your erections. That’s a given.

But just as important, at least it was to me, is a good, solid PE routine done on a regular basis. And that routine should include kegels and edging.

You haven’t mentioned what type of PE routine you’re currently doing. If you’re just starting out, as I said earlier, do the Newbie Routine for at least 3 months.

I’m sure that if you give up porn AND consistently do the Newbie Routine, your erections will gradually improve in a month or two.

I’m 60 years old and I get night and morning wood on a daily basis. That’s a testament to my PE routine. I never really had a problem with porn, my PE difficulties came about as a result of getting older and not using my unit on a regular basis.

Before starting PE, morning and night wood for me was a pretty rare thing, hadn’t happened regularly for years. As I said it’s now a daily occurrence.

And my routine includes edging and kegels.

So it really is a combination of all of the above. Just cutting out the porn will help but it may not be enough to get to where you want to be EQ wise.

My two cents….

Back when I was in shape I used to edge all the time. My EQ was great, but I have no evidence it was the edging. Back then I ate different than I do now. Meat, fish and eggs used to be the main part of the meal. Now plant foods are the main part of the meal with meat, fish and eggs a very small portion of the meal if at all. I do this because of addiction and it’s cheaper. I also used to be very active. I also only watched porn once in a while.

So, I have no evidence edging did anything, but I did edge while I had great EQ.

I like to edge to pictures, I open my tumblr that I follow some pages that I like then the fun begins. Sometimes my penis is sore after a workout then it is not easy to make it hard full and nice so I open some porn to get that blood flow in my dick nice and well then close it and go again to the pictures.

Kegel exercises definitely help, they will make your cock rock hard, I can edge for over an hour with a rock hard erection because my pelvic floor muscles are in good shape.
