I’m on day two of complete rest from an injury but possibly just a tired penis. Basically was having erectile difficulties following a stretching routine, I won’t go into details of my injury because it doesn’t matter for this post. My question is why is it good to apply heat to a penis in recovery for healing. People here often suggest a hot sock filled with rice. Normally people use a cold ice pack on injuries so I’m a little confused. And what’s with cold showers? Can anybody elaborate on these methods?

Heat increases blood flow, cold decreases blood flow. Choose which temperature for the type of injury you have.

Ok great thanks :) So I did the warm towel wrap, but my penis turtled not long after. Is this a PI that warm towel wraps are not for me?

No it indicates that you still have healing to go. Besides heat makes things expand so your penis likes when it’s nice and warm. Take away the heat it gets cold and you turtle.

When your penis turtles, is that an indication that it’s in repair mode?

I think we’re mixing up turtling with shrinkage. Shrinkage is from changing temperature. Turtling is a PI and is your penis’ response to over work / stress / trauma. You need to monitor it to understand when it is recovered or recovering. A little stress can result in a little turtling which may be gone by the next day. More significant stress may take days or weeks to recover from.

I agree turtling is an indication of being in repair mode.

Ok perfect 32quarters, Thanks. Yes I wondering about turtling after injury, a little off topic.

I couldn’t tell you why but can confirm it works. I pulled to hard upward one day and got really sore, my unit shorted up almost like a hard flaccid but not quite. As soon as I used the warm the rice head pack on and off for one day it got significantly better. I also notice using it per workout help big time, I get more range right off the bat

I hear about people often using cold temperature on their penis, like cold showers. Can you tell me when cold is a good move and why?

Cold constricts blood vessels which is great to slow down the progression of an injury but impedes healing.
