Is it true that there were more huge PE gainers in the past than there is now?

Is it true that there were more huge PE gainers in the past than there is now?

Hi,

A while back a remember reading in a thread beardedragon saying that there was much more huge PE gainers in the past than there is in the last few years..

Is this true, were there more huge gainers in the past?

If so, why?

I don’t know for sure but I’m assuming that there are more right now.

Now there’s much more knowledge and PE veterans that teach the newbies what they know.

If it’s true it’s probably because of feminization of men in modern society and hindered attention spans.

I’m not sure I ever said it in those words exactly, and I don’t even want to guess at the true answer. But there are some related observations I’m fairly sure of.

There are more men doing PE now than ever before because the knowledge is more accessible. And the knowledge base is better, more expansive.

Goals and ideals have shifted smaller over time. 8x6 used to be considered ideal. 9x7 used to be considered a normal and acceptable goal Now it’s often 7.5x5.5. Less guys are going for “as big as possible” these days. More information has come out that going beyond 8x6 is too big for many women.

Fewer big routines, and fewer innovative routines now. In the past guys were pioneering the practice of PE, making their own equipment, doing PE for several hours per day, actively analyzing the science and application. The spirit of adventure and discovery helps us push on, whereas doing something by rote can get boring.

Seemed like in the past guys were generally more proud of their PE, less ashamed, more willing to to do big routines as a result. What used to be viewed as positive dedication has shifted somewhat to be viewed as a negative obsession.

There is less privacy these days than there was 15 years ago due to the proliferation of cell phones and social media. Big routines are tougher to hide. It’s harder to stealth PE. It’s harder to privately share one’s progress online if they are stealth. Maybe there are a lot of big gainers out there we don’t know about.

More caution against injury nowadays than in the past. Could work both ways, less injuries mean fewer guys stop short of their goals. Also means routines are generally less aggressive.

Back in the early 2000’s, people were coming together online in concentrated groups sharing their lifelong interests. Guys who had practiced PE alone for years formed this community and shared all their personal discoveries. As the internet sprawled over the years, newbies and tourists diluted the various scenes. In other words, the average member here was more likely to be a dedicated long term PE’er who had possibly already made significant gains in the past, whereas now they are more likely to be a newcomer trying PE for the first time for a few weeks or months.

Before 5.5" x 4.1" ///////// Now 7.4" x 4.9"

It might be true, and it’s a phenomenon you can observe in all artistic or scientific changes of paradigm. Because innovators get better results than their followers. They work without safety net and aren’t afraid to step out of the beaten path. So the proportion of talents is higher at the beginning of a trend. Now there are much more people who practice, hence proportionally less who can make it work. Most just expect to follow some newbie routine, some nice and easy beaten path towards excellence. PE will involve more talented people than ever before, and they will exceed all expectations, but proportionally, the gap between “pro” and “amateur” will increase so that the % of “pros” will also keep decreasing. The “amateurs” will improve a bit overall, based on shared knowledge, but will always hit the same wall due to the limits of what culture alone can teach to the individual.

This is hilarious, I actually jokingly agree. Most my age or around it are p*ssies these days, broke backs, I’m almost 27.

Great answers from both above me. Makes a lot of sense, never really thought about it.

You know, as your typical PE practitioner, I truly appreciate and admire all of the vets that have put in their part towards the array of info that us today, have in front of us. I feel blessed actually.

Knowledge is certainly greater now and that is a factor as it perhaps limits there being as many extreme PE gainers. Risk v reward etc…

For example, wasn’t the chap who filmed the demo exercises someone who took it too far and damaged his penis?

Errrm where is the science to back this up? Internet played a huge part of spreading knowledge and PE so I find it impossible to believe this

This is really funny as I’ve read a report suggesting estrogen levels while in the womb play a part in our penis size at birth, the study actually suggested slight increase in estrogen levels made the penis bigger.

No I don’t have the article at hand nor will I find and it was a report rather than branded common knowledge.

I observed a lot of the huge gainers were from the 2000’s in the big gainers highlights thread, and there seemed to be less of them from 2010’s onwards. That is probably the most reliable way this theory can be analysed.

My guess would be it’s simply a generational thing, people these days want results now and aren’t willing to dedicate the time whereas the previous generation had more patience and stuck with things longer.
