Is over pumping bad?

Is over pumping bad?

I’m a newbie to this site but have been doing PE for some time now. I have been using the bathmate for over a month and pump to full pressure now. I’ve been doing 1 hour pumping 4on/3off and have gained 1/8” in length and girth every week so far (2 weeks). I used to do 1on/1off and gained 1/8” BEG one week, then gains stopped.

I notice when I use the comfort pad my penis is distorted but my mid shaft gets the growth. Without the pad my penis looks normal, although filled with fluid, get girth towards the base. When I pump for 2 sets of 10min high pressure or a 30min straight set, my penis comes out expanded, glans significantly larger, and no fluid build up. Anything after that gives fluid.

So my question is this. Is there anymore benefit to pumping past my max expanded state? I never got gains from pumping without getting edema (30min vs 1hr). It seems like the fluid helps cement and stretch my penis more. Input on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

In my experience with the bathmate you should try to pump as little as possible. The max possible pressure from a bathmate with a perfect seal is about 17hg

This is what I’m basing that statement off of

From what I’ve read on this board, at least in regards to air pumping, is that around 5hg seems to be the sweet spot for pump routines.

I’m stealing this quote but it gets the point across of how I would recommend using a bathmate.

You can't go on the basis of sensation, or pain. And you can’t know that you are ‘safe’ ‘because it doesn’t hurt yet’.

I take it that you can see through your cylinder. I would suggest that you pump to the bare minimum needed to get a seal, and then just a little more. VERY little. Keep your early sessions short and your vacuum levels very low. Watch your penis through the cylinder and see if you are getting any expansion, and how your color is. Don’t worry if you do not get expansion immediately.

Edit: In short, over pumping seems like a bad idea especially if you’re a newbie.

Though I rely on a gauge to determine proper vacuum level, I believe without a gauge you should only pump until you feel slight discomfort and then back off a bit.

Over pumping is subjective and depends on the individual. In my case, Exceeding 5 hg and twenty minutes under vacuum is over pumping.. For example, if I go for 20 minutes at 5 hg, I develope a slight bit of edema which is my sweet spot for gains. So is 45minutes at 4 hg. I consider anything over these limits over pumping which generates excess edema which I find unproductive and over pumping.

Start 11/09 BPEL: 5.5", EG: 4.4"

Current. BPEL: 6:4", EG: 5.5"

Think about it; over anything is bad. even sex!

Well I don’t feel any pain at all except the first bite that comes 30-40min into the pump session.

I’ve only been reading that edema was bad for gains. But I’ve been gaining despite the edema buildup after sessions. Today after my 3 rest days I noticed I gained another 1/8” BEG despite having some funky edema after pumping. That’s 1/4” BPEL, 1/4” MEG, 3/8” BEG in 3 weeks. I’ve only been doing 1 hour pumping and no other PE besides kegels.

Since a solid answer can’t be given, I guess I’m just going to stick to what’s working.

Just to clarify, you started using it 1-2 months ago and now you’re pumping at max pressure for an hour? Are you pumping for an hour straight or taking breaks at regular intervals?

Also, how would you describe the “bite” that you feel during the first 30-40 minutes?

I take a break whenever I can’t bear the “gaiter bite” pain. The “bite” feels like a pinching pain due to the suction against your body.
