Is there anyone here who has been circumsized recently

Hey, I was wondering if there was anyone here at TP that had a circumcision done recently. I’m not talking about when you were a kid and stuff, but when you actually chose to do it yourself.

The reason I’m asking is because I hage a condition called phimosis where the foreskin can’t be retracted all the way. I’ve tried many routines to help stretch it but I am stuck at a plataeu. I really don’t want to lose my foreskin, but I really have no way to enjoy sex to it’s fullest with it covering my glans.

Thanks in adavce,

HappyOrSad

January 10, 2010 -- BPEL: 4.90" - EG: 5.00" - BPFL: 2.00"

September 10, 2011 -- BPEL: 5.20" - EG: ?" - BPFL: ?

April 23, 2014 -- BPEL: 5.50" - EG: ? - BPFL: ?

I had it done in my twenties, best thing i could have done, I made sure to speak to the surgeon and asked him to leave enough to cover the glans when flaccid but other than that pretty routine . The post op swelling was a bit grim to look at but no pain .

I spend a lot of time on a foreskin restoration forum and I see many men come in regretting their decision to get circumcised to relieve phimosis. I’m not saying some people don’t like being circumcised but you seem to want to keep your foreskin very much, so I hope you don’t end up like some of the guys on the forum.

How long have you been stretching it for?

and

Have you been prescribed a steroid cream?

I had a light case of phimosis when I started PE half a year ago. It took me about 3 months to fix it.

In my particular case, the skin could retract but it was very painful - and it would get trapped behind the head if I did pull it back.

I never stretched it manually with my fingers. Usually, I’d just pull it as far back as it could go without pain and keep it there for a while every day. The first few weeks, I only worked on it flaccid (where it easily went back but still felt a little tight).

Can you retract your foreskin when you’re flacid ?

Starting stats: 6.4" / 5.6" Current Stats: 7.4" / 5.8" Short term goal: 7" / 6" Long term goal: 8" / 6.5"

I got cut in my early twenties (now in thirties), and it was one of the best decisions of my life. No phimosis, just my choice.

My penis is cleaner (objectively), sexier (subjectively), NOT less sensitive (neither more sensitive), and it makes getting BJ’s easier (in my personal experience).

It’s a personal thing though, I am not advertising it. Everybody their own.

You may not have noticed a change in sensation (I guess since it decreases over time), but circumcision does decrease the amount of pleasure dramatically. The foreskin has a ton of nerves, and the ridged band (removed during circumcision) contains specialized nerves that are especially sensitive to fine touch and other things. I wish doctors would bring this up when they discuss circumcision, but they don’t.

Circumcision certainly decreases pleasure for the man, and is well speculated to decrease pleasure for the woman as well. I would avoid circumcision as much as possible, HappyOrSad.

If you want to be skinned, do it. If it makes you more complete a man.

But you seem to advertise your point of view in an unfair way. You literally say above that circumcision dramatically decreases pleasure. What do you know about the pleasure I have in bed post circ??

Dictionary:
pleasure |ˈplɛʒə|
noun
a feeling of happy satisfaction and enjoyment

Sex is something between your ears, as much as it is in your penis. My pleasure during sex has been increased post circ. That’s my personal experience, and you just cannot say that circumcision decreases pleasure. Pleasure is too subjective.
If you obsess about not having a foreskin, surely this will influence your sex life, decreasing your pleasure.

Regarding sensitivity: this is arguably more objective than pleasure. I know some people experience sensitivity reduction. But I haven’t. The scar area is very sensitive for instance.

Little is known about how cutting nerves in the penis will affect the nerve endings that will stay behind. We know from amputations that in some cases, nerves can actually become more active afterwards. So cutting does not equal killing nerves.
Regarding the penis:
A quick search in PubMed (search terms ‘circumcision sensitivity’) did not give me any studies demonstrating that cut penises are less sensitive.
I found one study that said they were more sensitive. Adult male circumcision: effects on sexual function and sexual satisfaction in Kisumu, Kenya - PubMed
And one that said it made no difference The effect of male circumcision on sexual satisfaction and function, results from a randomized trial of male circumcision for human immunodeficiency virus prevention, Rakai, Uganda - PubMed

The people who are the most passionate about this sensitivity issue, are usually those who were cut at birth. Understandably, they feel they miss out on something. But they have no way of comparing, so how would they know my penis is now less sensitive?! I have been cut >10 years ago, at the age of 21, and so I DO know the difference. The difference is: negligible.

Enjoy your penis. And get it cut if you want to. Or restore your foreskin if you want to. Whatever. Just have fun with it, and pleasure will follow.

I am simply warning the original poster that the foreskin is very sensitive and contains many nerves, and its removal will inevitably take away much physical sensation.

I was cut at ten years old, I had phimosis. Apart from some childish bullying at school (I’m from the UK so it is rare in other kids, and got teased for being ‘different’)
I’ve never regretted being circumcised, nor would I have it restored. It’s never been a issue with any of my partners, in fact only one even commented on it and they weren’t negative just observational.
“Anti circ” people tend to go over-dramatic on the issue, and to be honest I’m not quite sure why. If they like their foreskin then keep it. If they are cut and want foreskin then restore it, but don’t insult people with different opinions on the matter. Some try to imply a cut penis is somehow less of a penis than an uncut one, maybe in some ways it has it’s disadvantages, but in others it has it’s advantages too.

Masturbation & sex, (oral and intercourse) are still very pleasurable. I hear the argument that “a cut penis loses sensitivity”. Truth be told if it was any more sensitive for me, it would be too sensitive to be enjoyable.
Easier to keep clean and urinate, less chance of developing some STI’s etc. The only possible downside I can think of is looking different among other guys in the showers/gym etc. If that’s not an issue for you, then I’d say go for it, if that’s what you want.

So true. To make matter worse many of them are also misinformed (or in outright denial) about the benefits.

Starting (May 2010): BPEL:6" EG: 4 7/8". Current (April 2011): BPEL: 6 3/4" EG: 5 1/4".

Short Term Goal: BPEL: 7" EG: 5.25" Long Term Goal: When my wife makes me stop or 8"x6" (whichever comes first)

So, I am 56 years old, and just got circumcised in January of this year. I wanted to see what being circumcised was like. Growing up, most of my friends were circumcised, although I think maybe the trend is now changing to not being circumcised. I am pretty sure that my wife of 31 years, would have always prefer I was cut. Here are my observations:

It was easier to masturbate before, and I think more enjoyable, you could rub your glans directly, or use your skin, not anymore (I find I masturbate much less)

I lost some sensitivity, but do not find that to be a problem, specially during intercourse. I find that now I get my friction directly from her body, and not isolated by my foreskin. This is good most of the time, but if she is not quite ready, it can be a little rough without lube.

I do know that she enjoys it more now, and that is definitely a good thing.

It is much easier to keep clean (and I was always very good at keeping clean), and she likes that, also good.

It is easier to pee in a straight stream, unless my dick is swollen from P.E., in which case the foreskin would have helped to keep the pee going in a general direction.

Both my wife and I like the way it looks.

Possibly get more oral.

And for me after 56 years of being uncut, it is like a new toy.

Again, there was nothing wrong with being uncut, but I like it just fine now as well.

‘Inevitably’?
As I set out above, that’s not necessarily true. Please give some evidence for what you are saying, OR only speak from your own experience. You’re doing neither at the moment.
