Do you guys use a tight or loose grip? I use a tight one, but am wondering if I should loosen it up some. I think it’s too tight as my fingers are kinda getting a workout from gripping my penis.

How do you know you are gripping hard enough? I know people say you can feel the blood moving, but I’m not sure if what I’m feeling is the blood moving.

Keep it tight as long as it doesn’t hurt you.

I have been wondering the same thing. I’d actually like to see a vet reply to this because I asked the same question awhile back and I get all these replies from people that only have 20 posts, it’s ridiculous.

Don’t give people advice when you’re a newbie because people will listen and then end up injuring themselves.

I’d like for someone experienced to let us all know what’s better.

I hear you donpatch84. I was searching the wrong words, and apparently after refining my search, they say you should start with a light grip, just a bit harder than would jack off with. So I will try that out.

Jelq grip is something what you need to figure out by yourself and nobody can tell you in words how hard actually you should grip. It takes time to get used to it and to know exactly how hard to grip. If the grip is too light, even in the beginning, you won’t do anything. Hand will be just sliding over the skin with no much blood moving through shaft. If the jelq grip is too hard it can cause an injury if you are not enough conditioned. So it should be tight enough to feel the workout and not to cause an injury. And you have to figure out that by YOURSELF, how can someone tell you that?!

By describing what they feel? lol. Or what they do/how they do it. For example, my dick is about 4.25 EG, but my grip probably forms about a 3.8-4” circle. Is that too tight? I assume it is after reading a lot and people saying tenderness in your ligs shouldn’t happen.

I understand what you mean.

My problem is that it’s hard for me to judge my PI’s.

I never really got morning wood unless I had to piss, so that one goes down the drain.

And my EQ has always been good, so that’s another PI that I can’t come to a conclusion for. I haven’t seen any negative PI’s via actual pain, discoloration, edema etc. The only thing I have noticed is that when I upped the number of jelqs but decreased the pressure, do to fear of over training, my flaccid hang started to take an hourglass shape that lasts all day.

So how do I know whether or not I’m overworking or under training?

I have below-average girth, so I have to grip mine pretty tight. Sometimes I’ve wondered if it has been deleterious, but I figure that as long as it seems to work and I don’t get any pain or negative PIs, then I’ll just go as hard as I need to to keep the pressure up.

Hi Donpatch84, I’ve read the abbreviations index and I don’t know what EQ, or PI stand for.

If I had to guess I’d say erection quality and penis injury.

Am I close?

PI is physical indicators. Just hover over the abbreviations with your mouse and it will tell you. (I just learned this courtesy of other members)
