Kegel Exercise: How to Hold

Hi,
I just joined Thunder’s Place today. I read about Kegel exercises about a month ago in a magazine. I’ve been doing about 100-200 of them everyday. I looked up the routine for a “newbie” and it recommended “50 kegels of five second holds each”.

I’m not sure how to hold a Kegel? When I do a kegel, I can flex my member, but am not able to hold him for even 2 secs. Please let me know how do I do this exercise correctly.

Thanks for your replies. I find it easier to squeeze and hold while doing Kegel when I’m erect rather than when I’m flaccid. Is that a common issue?

Exactly, just like any other excersise, you have to work your way up to it. But in the case of Kegels it shouldn’t be too hard if you really do them. I was holding for 5 seconds after the first week. Goodluck.

When I start doing Kegels with an erection, my erection starts dieing down after 20-30 Kegels. I thought that Kegels help maintain erection. I get more and more flaccid after 50-60 Kegels.

Am I doing something wrong?

Concentrate on your breathing too, I have to breathe fast and deep to hold a kegel for 10-20 seconds.

Not necessarily. There are a bunch of guys that I have seen saying the same thing. It seems that for some guys is causes erections and for some it kills them. I don’t know why but that seems to be the case. As long as you can feel the tension in the right spot I would keep doing what you are doing. The more you practice the easier it gets.

I guess I could do them for 2 seconds also in the beginning. Now like 30 seconds .Good luck!

Guys,another thing I came to think about today,
you know how the penis kind of ‘thugs’ when you do a kegel ?
I tried to hold the thug back gently with my hand at the same time I slowly did the kegel.
Trying to increase the force needed to do the kegel. Hopefully this will strenghten those muscles more.
Have you tried it?
