If you want to gain length, go for hanging, not JP90. When done correctly and cautiously you will not injure yourself. Go and read 5.5Squared’s log “Hanging with FIRe” for a start. Hanging - most likely - will not positively affect girth, though.

When you want to target girth, you might go for a jelqing routine like JP90, clamping, soft clamping or pumping.

The JP 90 or any beginners routine gets you in shape and conditioned to do more advanced work. Since there should never be any rush to do PE why not take a few weeks of conditioning; it can’t hurt and only help.
