Measuring the bend ?

When measuring the erect penis , is the proper way to measure the curve as well or just from the point where it meets the body to the tip of the glans?

I get an extra half inch if I lay the tape measure right along the whole shaft but lose that half inch when measuring with a steel ruler as it misses out the curve and touches only the point where it meets the body and the upper part of the glans.

I have only a slight up curve so I can just straighten it when I use a ruler. Lots of guys with more of a bend use tape, its fine just be consistent every time.
