Morning wood - is it a necessary sign of a good routine?

Morning wood - is it a necessary sign of a good routine?

I don’t have a morning wood. That’s not the result of overtraining, because I haven’t had a morning wood for a couple of years already (well, maybe sometime, but extremely rare). I visited a urologist a year ago for some other reasons, and I asked him about that then, and he said it was nothing to worry about. But since I read here that a strong morning wood and nocturnal erections are sure signs of a good routine, I’m wondering whether or not I’m doing something wrong. I felt partial nocturnal erections in two nights, but I think that could just be autosuggestion.

I don’t know but lately I’ve noticed I always get morning wood, and during the day I get 2-3 un provoked ones too. I’m 26-27, I don’t remember having so many in the last 5 ish years. I am staying with family at the moment and I have to find ways to hide it or try to get it down without masturbation in order to just leave the bed room! :P I could masturbate but that would attract attention and probably take longer, not to mention potential mess. I also don’t want it to shrink too much once it goes flaccid.

Ok I realized this didn’t help you :) Try Tribulus supplement and that L arginine stuff. I’ve yet to try the Arginine but everyone swears by it for ejaculate volume and erection?

First and foremost, nocturnal erections are a sign of good health. If you have them before PE and lose them, it is a sign you are over doing it.

For me, do to a lousy lifestyle, I had also lost my nocturnal erections, but PE has fully restored them. It was a combination of PE opening up the blood flow to my cock and my improved diet and weight and exercise program that brought me back to penile health and better physical health.

I think your doctor is underestimating the importance of nocturnal erections. For one thing, if the loss is due to restricted blood flow to your cock, well those blood flow restrictions are probably also occurring in your heart. It’s a good reason to evaluate your weight, diet, exercise program and life style and work towards getting the blood flowing again throughout your body.

Nemanja, I would say that if you had regular morningwood and nocturnal erections throughout the day BEFORE you started PEing then you may be over doing it. However, if that isn’t the case then there is somethig else afoot (I’ve always wanted to use that word, very PIish…that’s private investigator not physilogical indicator, Sparkyx). A sign of a healthy minime is good blood flow, and a sign of good blood flow is morningwood and occasional involuntary erections (or partials).

Here’s the situation. It is possible that I don’t have a very good blood flow. As I wrote in another thread (yet nobody commented on it), my feet and hands are almost always cold (especially now in the winter). I thought that it might be the result of the lack of the physical activity (I’m not practicing any sports). So I joined a gym less then a month ago and I go there three times a week. (in fact I’m going now, right after I post this) Could it be that it’s so simple and that I just need to train more?

As for the nocturnal erections - if you had a good night of sleep, how can you know whether or not you had any erections? And if I wake up, usually in the early morning hours, I sometimes have a partial erection, but definitely not a strong one.

If you think I should see a doctor, could you tell me what specialist do I need? A urologist or a heart doctor?

The usual method of testing for nocturnal erections is the make a loop of postage stamps around the penis, then in the morning look to see if they have ripped apart or not.

There are all kinds of things that could diminish erections. It could be lifestyle, hormonal or PE intensity. Personally I’d start with making sure I had enough sleep, that diet was in check, and back off the PE for a few days and see if that helps. Maybe after that I’d get some blood work done to see what the hormonal profile looks like.

This isn’t an exhaustive list by any means, but it’s plenty to be getting on with. Can you get erections if you want them?

I’ll try this.

I have enough sleep, that’s for sure. I eat much healthier then most people, you can be sure about that. And PE isn’t the problem, I’ve been PEing for less then two weeks and lack of morning wood is a condition that I have for years now.

Do they do this in a regular blood check-up?

Yes, without any problems. And they are not weak, I can have a normal erection any time I want. This is what my doctor asked me when I told him that I don’t have a morning wood, and after hearing from me that I don’t have erection problems, he claimed that, in that case, lack of morning wood is nothing to be worried about.

Hey Nemanja, My feet are always cold also. I have really bad blood flow to my legs. I constantly have to keep moving them when I am sitting down or they fall asleep (which drives my wife nuts when she is sitting near me). The doctor said that improving my diet and exercise routine would help. Drinking a lot of water and regular doses of a good multibitamin believe it or not has helped a great deal.

Everything sounds fine to me. I expect that the postage stamp test will show that they’re present.

I don’t know about the blood work. In the UK it is not normally done, but from what I’ve read here, in the US many people have it regularly. I guess you’d have to ask your doc about the procedure in your country. Maybe there are some on the net that would do it for a fee.
