MSNBC Premature Ejaculation

MSNBC Premature Ejaculation

Hi,

This just was posted on MSNBC as part of their Health Page.

http://www.msnb … com/id/7493269/

Other links below on this page part of their coverage.

I find it usually takes 10 to 20 minutes of good screwing to make a chic cum. I use to be a quick shooter in my foolish teens, until I realized it’s up to me to control the situation. Now I go for hours if I choose.

Thanks hgte74. Very interesting info.

I don’t want to discount any attempt to help men with this problem, but given what I have read, I don’t know how promising the dapoxetine is for P.E. (premature ejaculation, not penis enlargement).

Of the 166 patients studied, the mean baseline “intravaginal ejaculatory latency time” (IELT) was 1.01 minutes. Those who received 60 mg of dapoxetine had a mean IELT of 2.94 minutes. And those who received 100 mg had a mean IELT of 3.20 minutes.

Granted, 3 minutes is better than 1 minute. But it still counts as P.E. in my book.

Interestingly, those who received a placebo raised their mean IELT to 2.05 minutes.

Given what I’ve heard about its recreational use, I don’t know why they don’t develop something similar to Viagra, but less potent, for regular use for P.E. and male “enhancement” generally. The mean IELT would probably go up to 30 minutes or more!

To follow up on what Motivated mentioned concerning Dapoxetine, I did some additional research on the Net of this product. Here is some of what I discovered as the latest:

The MSNBC article mentions testing to establish some kind of "baseline time" for premature ejaculation. This testing appears to be in conjunction with the efforts of several of the pharmaceutical companies mentioned in the article which originated with Reuters News Service.

By doing a search on "Dapoxetine", I came up with the primary companies driving this to market. They are:

1. Ortho-McNeil — product development and marketing
2. Alza Corporation — drug delivery
3. Pharmaceutical Product Development Global Pharmaceutical Contract Research Organization (CRO) | PPD — product development & testing

They all include recent News releases concerning the submission of Dapoxetine to the FDA for prescription approval following several years of testing. This occurred just after Christmas 2004. It appears to have been in testing at least since 2000 with the Phase 3 Clinical Evaluation finishing last quarter 2004. It doesn’t mention how long the FDA is expected to want to evaluate it prior to releasing it to the general public. Should it pass approval, I believe it would be the first prescription product FDA approved to treat Premature Ejaculation. Other companies probably have their own products under testing, but this might have the same impact being first to market like Viagra.

This is what I read from the press releases. Perhaps someone else might have a better insight.
