PI Question.

So, should I be looking for harder morning wood the night after I jelq? Or is it the rest days I should be paying attention to? Right now it feels like I have less morning wood on my two days training, but this morning after my rest day I definitely felt harder.

EDIT: Also, if slight achiness is only a neutral PE, what kinda achiness are we talking about? Where’s the line? There are achey pains after all, so how much ache is too much? Is there a duration I should be looking for? An intensity?

Wait. Any achyness at all is bad? The main PI thread seems to say some slight acheyness isn’t a bad thing. Or is that post outdated?

Everyone’s bodies react differently and the longer you do this, the better you’ll get to know your own. Increasing the strenuousness of your routines needs to be a very, very gradual process. If you’re achy following the exercise, it may mean that you’re not conditioned well enough to handle it yet. When it comes to manual exercises, there’s no pressure or tension gauges to warn us if we’re doing too much. The only red flag we’ve got is pain. If you’re feeling pain, particularly persistent pain, then pump the brakes and rest until the pain has subsided. Once you resume, try to ease up on the routine a little bit and see if the pain returns or if it stays gone under the lighter regimen.

The worst thing you can do to yourself is to be too aggressive and cause yourself an injury. Most injuries aren’t too hard to come back from, given some rest and self care. Most of the horror stories around here though, are from people that didn’t have the patience for the long road.

It may be that for you, achiness is a normal result of stretching and jelqing. It is for some, but it isn’t for everyone. Just make sure you take the time to be sure that that achiness isn’t impairing your functionality any.
