Prozac hinder gains

Can Prozac hinder gains, especially flaccid gains?

It might and it might not

Geez, I hope not. I’m on the stuff and have been for about the same number of months as the growth plateau I’ve been stuck on.

Having said that, I’ve never heard of SSRI’s being a growth inhibitor before.

Either way bro you should get off that shit it will send you to a mental house later in life.

Hi:)

As longwidehard posted it’s a SSRI (type) witch inhibits the re-uptake of neurotransmitter; serotonin (and maybe dopamine too)

None of these neurotransmitters has an (direct) effect on cell/tissue growth etc.

MY STATISTICS

Disclaimer:The advices that I give of any sort are just stated on general laymen's knowledge.

They do have an effect on the flaccid state yes. It’s called the shrivles. I learned this when I used to abuse drugs. Bad time in my life.

ChiefDatnte,

that’s a pretty sweeping statement. And one that isn’t - to my knowledge - backed by anything but hearsay. Or?

tfs,

Do you mean that the drugs you abused gave you shrivles, or that you used SSRIs in conjuction or what? I have never heard of this, nor have I experienced it myself.

Primary goal: To have an EQ above average (i.e. streetsmart, compassionate about life and happy) Secondary goal: to make an anagram of my signature denoting how I feel about my gains

You base this bullshit on what exactly? Being on antidepressants won’t send you to a fucking mental house later in life, in future I suggest you don’t post crap about things you know nothing about.

Powerful drugs have side-effects.

Many antidepressants are new, we don’t know the long term ramifications all that clearly yet.

Jelq my boy, jelq like the wind.

Good point, Klayton. Same can be said for creatine and lots of other supplements and drugs that people play around with. I’m all for the judicious use of antidepressants and other meds when necessary, but we should always bear in mind the unknown long-term dangers when we chronically use a supplement or drug that’s been around only a short time.

I took an anti-depressant for about a week, it made me feel wierd and I didn’t like it at all. I stopped taking it and havn’t thought about it since.

Yeah you’re right. Every drug that alters your brain chemistry that much is completely 100% safe for prolonged usage! Thanks Slack M.D.

Do you have any evidence that Prozac isn't safe long-term, ChiefDante? As far as I know, there’s no evidence that it “sends you to a mental house,” although no one knows the very long-term effects for sure.

No but you also don’t need a scientist to always tell you whats good for you and whats not.. Do you? :)

Srris raise serotonin levels. Adderall raises dopamine leves.

Ecstasy or mdma(gives you the shrivles) raises serotonin. Cocaine(gives you the shrivles) raises dopamine.

Of course I shouldn’t assume to much but it does make sense to me.

Everyone is different. Someone can be on an ssri forever and be okay, while another developes serious issues. It’s hard to tell.
