Question on Grip

So, one of the big things I see on the forums is warnings not to use more pressure than you can handle, but I can never find any descriptive advice on how tight a beginners grip should be. Should I be squeezing and applying any force at all? Or is the okay grip initially meant to just be a light squeeze? I’ve seen the phrase tourniquet grip tossed around for Uli’s, but nothing on how much tighter that grip is from the standard, and well.. So far I’ve been struggling to find a routine that works. The newbie routine is too much for me somehow and I’m trying various lesser versions, but I’m also wondering if my grip is part of problem.

Same here.. I’ve been dying to start but have been wondering the same thing, I’m not sure what it’s ‘supposed to’ feel like. Is it more of a massage or more pressure.. I also agree on keeping it simple, I’ve seen a lot of the routines and think to myself is 5-10min jelqing sessions enough, minus all the pulling stretching etc

It should be as tight as you can feel the blood move up the shaft, and you see the head expands, and for that, it doesn’t take a grip that would strangle your penis. There’s no point in squeezing your penis like trying to get all water out of a sponge - that will injure your penis.

Have you tried the Linear Newbie Routine?

I saw somewhere of there being Jelqing devices, do you recommend those for someone who feels rather unsure on form/pressure?

A grip for jelqing or a grip for stretching? If jelqing, start light. But you eventuallly need to push that blood ahead, toward the glans. I see veins swelling up ahead of my grip.

Like ‘getting the last of the toothpaste out’ kinda push or a masturbation stroke type push

#1, for me. But I’ve been doing this for years. I do it extremely hard. I urge you to start light and ramp up.
