You’ll be much happier than if you JUST eat meat…The real trick tho, is to combine a ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting.
That one-two punch helped me lose 80lb in a year while actually gaining muscle.
The trifecta is:
1. Ketogenic diet to get you burning fat as energy
2. Intermittent fasting to provide a time period every day when you have exhausted food energy and glycogen, and have to dip into your fat reserves
3. Fasted exercise increases testosterone and human growth hormone which gives you a bigger bang for your exercise buck and helps you retain/make muscle while in a calorie deficit.
I’ve been intermittent fasting for several years, usually only eating between midday and 8pm. Unfortunately it didn’t help prevent weight gain when my finances made the carnivore diet difficult to maintain. I added carbs to add bulk to my meals - carbs caused insulin resistance and weight gain, remove them from your diet and you’ll lose weight without much effort.
I often go for fasted rides in the morning, the trick is to do longer sessions at lower intensity to burn fat. Long fasted walks really burn through your fat stores when you are in ketosis.
